George kicked a critical goal in the second half, had many tackles and pressire acts .He will not be traded , but needed in the sode fpr a back to back effort next year .

Congrats Jason on being justifiably elevated to the senior list.

Does that mean he has already signed a contract?

In reading this thread it is right next to the Taylor Hunt thread. So what I hear you ask. Point is that at one time Taylor Hunt was the player you had to beat to get into the RFC senior side. Now it is George.

The standard of our gatekeeper player has demonstrably improved. I genuinely hope George keeps improving next year cos that will meant the team as a whole has improved again and the skill level necessary to get into the side gets a little bit harder - or he gets his nose on front of McIntosh, whichever comes first.

Has a rookie ever won a premiership before being a senior listed player? More trivia

You'd think that George, Butler and Graham would want to stay in the numbers they won a premiership in.

Just watched the video on the club website with George & Dan Butler, talking about the flag. They ran highlight package over them talking, and it was amazing how often they were together in a pressure situation, hunting the defender. Having seen that and watching some other footage, it happens all the time, they seem to have some sort of instinctive understanding. I guess living in the same house, and spending so much time together has created this. Hope it continues for a long time to come.

Castagna is so important as a player, despite his rookie disposal level (currently).

Knows where the ball goes.
Is tall!
Is strong.
Is fast
Has endurance.

Whenever we need to cut off switches of play we need 7 or so fast endurance players to do this all day long. The one on one stuff is an important second.

Also, attack. When we press up the ground and then win the ball in defence, Castagna is the most likely to break hard up the ground, all day long, and bring the ball down to a zero sum game at half forward.

So important. We win by effort and structure.

Also provides a contest marking situations and can bring the ball to ground, which enables the 3 small forward setup to work.

spot on! if Jason can hold his marks, he will be more dangerous.
Butler with high quality speed (needs to do more and take on the game), Jason with speed and potential overhead marking, Daniel with speed, marking, ground work and many more skills. These three will generate positive results for us going forward.
