I thought the first rule of Club 80 was never speak about Club 80? :rofl

Yes i didn't mind the club asking that info from Club 80 nights be kept hush hush, but then we win a premiership and tell everyone how we did it in a book ??? ???

I have no doubt that RCd will be a player, Just cannot for the life of me work out how the hell Cartoon select Stocker ahead of RCD

Im certain that if they had selected RCD after trading out their 2020 1st rounder just about everybody would have been talking about what a great call SOS made

Have heard from a Blues mate that Stocker is well behind the eightball in terms of fitness, will be lucky to play in the first half of the year. This is already shaping up as a disaster for SOS.

I think most would have justified his move to get #19 if he had taken RCD

I had a look and could see Stocker sliding to #27 / #28 had they had not selected stocker with #19

Bloosers Bastards sold us Hamster n Yazzy, then they get all smart arse n do a special trade deal so they can grab Stocker early in case we were interested. Plus the whisper that they were sniffing around Stacka's clacker trying to snaffle him after we'd done all the hard yards over summer. Reckon that SOS bloke is still mighty pissed off that we ruined his 300th n then gave him a guard of honour to send him to the showers.

Lol, a first year player not even eight weeks in.

Russell sees no problem with him, built a program specific for him and he has done the vast majority of it.

Has actually impressed in match sims in bursts. Is going fine.

Pick 1-3 to the left, RCD to the right, can see this going tits up. Time to put your balls on the line, RCD vs Stocker, make your call.

Can confirm Stocker is no more or less fit than any average draftee. Myth busted.

If RCD plays before Stocker then I wholeheartedly disagree. RCD coming from a long way behind.

And that would be breaking into a team fighting for premiership glory compared to a laughing stick bottom dweller team.

Im not being Bias at all but my firm belief is that RCD >>> Stocker easily both now and long term as well as having a much higher ceiling on talent

Imnot into which player plays first as they are in different teams with different needs but happy to bet anybody that in 3 years time RCD will be the better player

Correct, I'm even reluctant to play RCD too much this year, my focus would be on honing his forward craft in the VFL. That being said, his running has improved out of sight, he's now on par with Stocker who's already put the extra hours in at junior level. Ceilings already poles apart, tried to emphasise this at draft time, not to mention Stocker had zero exposure to state football. For SOS to rank him at 6 reeks of desperation, he'd be the only recruiter who made that call & I suspect his job will be on the line if either next year's pick is a gun or RCD proves to be the better player. Risk management very poor in this situation.

I’ve had a club director tell me recently that Stocker was our man. We would have picked him if Carlton didn’t.

Exact opposite of what 1 of our recruiting staff told me before the draft , I posted as much at the time

He told me that came directly from Frank.

Not being rude but my info was first hand , maybe something was lost in the translation to you ?

Not offended at all! I believe my guy, you believe yours no probs at all with that, taz.

Sam Landsburger had an entire article written about Stocker landing at Richmond. Journos do guesswork no doubt, but I can guarantee they don’t waste time like that on a guess.

the said club director is flat out lying.

The recruiting team had RCD > Stocker

Wasn't Stocker the one we had training with us earlier in the year?
Believe even he admitted that he got told some fairly blunt home truths about his fitness n preparation n then put it the necessary rectification work prior to the draft period.
Perhaps there will be very little to separate either player once they've had a few seasons in the system, but hoping Carlscum stuffed the selection big time.

I don't think the question is whether we would have chosen rcd ahead of stocker. Quite clear that we had rated rcd higher and snapped him up.

The open question is how high we rated stocker relative to those in the 20-30 range.

In the end it is all moot, we got rcd.

The more interesting question is whether the blue's gamble will pay off.

Lol. Bully I liked them both. When a player plays his first game has zero relationship with how fit he was.

At out pick, Stocker was gone, RCD was the pick. If we had of taken Stocker if he was available, I would have got that too. Had an outstanding back half of the TAC. Carlton weren't the only club that had him in top 10 rankings.

RCD has a higher ceiling but may take longer to reach it and that's fine too.
