Welcome to the Tiggers - Daniel Butler

Personally don't think his hands are good enough to play on ball. Seems to fumble a little. Link up player is his go. Unsure he can get his hands on it in the middle but would give him a chance to find out
Dunno, seems to handle dirty ball with composure so far. His take up n goal of the half volley last week was as tidy as it gets. Have also seen him in a few games control the loose bouncing ball fairly well by hand and foot through traffic until he gets time n space to pounce clean.
Kids gotta get some game exposure n experience yet, but he could be more than competent doing stints through the mid field. Not sure he'll be an underneath ball ferret, but around n through the contested area he should be ok.

Agree with Blind Turn, have also noticed he is fumbly in tight.

Dan is a very clean one-touch player. Far better than George and almost on par with Rioli.

it doesnt get much tidier.

But I also love the absence of fear. many would take a short step and wait for the bounce. Jeeves (and George) only have one gear and its full speed ahead.

This gear ratio will hopefully exhilarate more than infuriate. But expect and accept some of the latter.

BTW. Butler played in 3 St.Patricks College premierships (beating all the traditional footballer factories xavier, assumption, geelong grammar etc) , meaning he was in the first 18 of a powerhouse in year 10, at 15.

Quite extraordinary. Not certain, but I think Drioli had to wait until year 12 to crack the same first 18?

Not in the same league as Rioli. Slightly better than George. Also seems to drop chest marks. That could just be composure but needs to take every opportunity presented to him as a small.

Considering he has only played 3 senior practice games plus 6 real games at AFL level he has been fantastic. Looking forward to more great skills and speedy exploits in the coming years.

Thought I'd already said that TM, maybe I wasn't concise enough.

Castagna will be found out, imo he is a fumbler, lacks poise and skill and is a poor decision maker.

In all reality he hasn't done enough in recent weeks to still warrant his place in the side imo since his game v Lions and cost the Tigers some critical direct attacks on goal with crap disposal and poor decision making last week.

Butts has time in traffic. With his jets and mobility i think he will suit the changeup rover.
Fumbles, dropped marks and missed tackles indicate exhaustion, so more fitness and strength needed.
No surprises there.
Plus small forwards will have quiet games.
It has been a step up in class from the first month, so its great experience

Savvy obs, tigerdell.

Cooked.
No acceleration on his first 3 steps and dropped more sitters today than I cared to count.
Time for a spell and refresh. There are others too

He was showing these signs three weeks ago.
As was George.
You could maybe carry one but not both.
We have smart goalkickers in Lloyd or Lennon who would have provided the balance and support for Jack.
Dimmerized at selection table.

Doesn't need to play seconds just needs rest I think. He has a future.

Mosquito fleet needs a refresh. Like the 3 working together but looks like he has lost a little zip. Suspect a change for this week.
