Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

No one can deny Oleg has the basic skills to make it or that he is not doing everything he can to get himself to the level required for AFL so if he remains injury free I see him replacing Houli mid way through the season as a permanent fixture

I liked how he mentions in the interview that he has gained the weight he lost last year and is feeling good

He lost a lot. 7kg or so?
But great that its back on... still a young kid so will still need to get stronger over the next 2 years.
Fingers crossed he comes on as he will be part of the next generation defence

Loved his work today. I will be very dissapointed if he isnt a regular starter.

Agree. Took them on today, used it well and created plenty off half back.

Question is who does he replace in the back 6?

I think I prefer him to Broad. but to be fsir they can probably both play, one on the bench.

No one at this stage.

Well if hes playing as a rebounder and runner from HBF its Houli or Short and at this stage save for injury that aint happening.

There is no way Oleg is playing ahead of Bash or Jayden.

He aint replacing Broad either who can play 3 roles as a shut down, relief KPP and Runner, and was in the best today as was Basha and Jayden also had plenty of footy.

Oleg may well be an option for a changing Wing spot in all seriousness that Ellis was likely to get first crack at.

Yeah I didn’t like his start - got pushed off the ball to easily bit he did make up for it - gives us more speed.

We have depth which is great - he could easily play but needs to force some one out. If someone like Houli drops off the pace or gets injured the he should play

did some great things, but getting pushed off the ball and conceding a goal by strongman garlett wasnt one of them

I was a little underwhelmed by his game.....but I think he still has a lot of upside and will feature a bit this season.
agree started horribly then got better

The pressure on players like Oleg to perform, once he gets his limited senior opportunities, is not to be underestimated.
No feeling of comfort or security but improved as the game went on. Took the game on and a legitimate option as a rebounding defender when opportunity presents next.

Yep. Still got some work to do. Probably first in line if a Bash, Shorty or Ellis struggles.

Loved his start. Was in everything. Made a big blunder at the end of the first quarter which cost a goal, then start of second was caught taking someone on but I liked that he tried to use his pace in that circumstance.was just a really good game. His flexibility puts him ahead of the likes of Ellis and McIntosh imo. Big chance for top 22 round 1.

Did some nice things, but didn't stand out enough to warrant a round 1 selection. Didn't offer more than Houli, Short or even Broad imo.
