Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Problem is Bacher is not just a runner. He's a terrific link man and distributor and we're going to really miss him. A lot of our work is set up through him from the back half. Wonder if Grimes could do it? Bacher bashers are going to find out the hard way how important to our team he is. John Longmire said recently he's more worried about tying up Bacher than tagging Martin. Seems a lot of our supporters don't see it or don't want to see it.

ill tell you one thing, the opposition wont be kicking as many goals from turnovers this week !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon markov could fill this spot with his running and kicking. has a good leap on him too may even cause a spoil or two and take a couple of intercept marks. and will only get better with gametime !!

I like the ins this week but believe we should have dropped Edwards, He has been rubbish this year and deserves to be dropped

Broad has been playing well in the 2's and we should have given him a game to see what he can do and we would have had the option of rotating Marcov & Broad from HBF and HF

I had this game as a loss and would have atleast tried something different with Broad up foward just to see how he went as the 2nd tall (192cm)

St.Oleg is the right man, at the right time.

run like a hare son.

Make a hero of yousef

The modern HBF doesn't just defend. He repels. He must hit the contest at speed and carry the ball. Sometimes when you attack it hard you can fumble the odd ball or get one over the back but really wish this fallacy about Houli being soft and non accountable would stop. Our coaches and other coaches really rate him. He averages mid 20s disposals. Seems some tags are just impossible to shake.
And he's also a great clubman and most honourable man you'd ever meet.

I watch Oleg play (and am involved in the sport of Athletics, so watched him a couple of times in his junior athletics days). His attributes are similar to Jeremy Howe, who I watched play local footy here in Hobart pre-AFL. Oleg I would say has more running ability than Howe though. Howe has certainly upped his game to more consistency since being moved to half back in the latter part of his career.

Oleg will need his old mans pole vault pole to jump as high Howe.

Oleg was a very decent high jumper as a junior. Medals at national junior level. In truth, probably had the attributes to give pole vault a go if he had so desired. But just didn't enjoy athletics as much as he did footy. I don't see why he wouldn't possess a similar leap. If he does make it in footy, don't be surprised to see a few screamers taken.

I find him quite an underwhelming player.

I'm hoping Short steps up for Houli.

Shorty will be getting a crack at it, Midsy. We'll get hard information in this weekend.

Was getting pushed off the ball reallly easily when he was in the side earlier
Needs to run and carry on the wing or forward
I worry about him down back especially against big Port Power bodies

There were more than a few that thought Menedue wasn't doing much to keep his spot and he's probably had his best game tonight.

That was a pretty hot game tonight - couldn't believe that the pace was on all night - I'd like to give Oleg a run of a few games, at least until Bachar returns.

He won't learn anything if he keeps getting dropped. Give him a good run.

X2

Watched the 2nds today and its like a different code.

Looked off the pace. But like others I would play him again next week.

I thought he was ok. I like that he wants to take it on

Agree.
His stats won't flatter but thought he had some important moments.
Like that he doesn't panic.
Needs continuity in the one's and should be a natural beneficiary of Basher's absence.

There are people on here who thought Rance was a dud in his first 40 games - if I had time (I dont) I could dig up some pearlers to show how some are impatient and totally off the mark.
In 3 years we will be hailing Oleg as a Star.
