Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Was hoping n expecting Lego to at least get through to the Saints n Brisvegas game. Three games to give him time to settle n show some stuff, unfortunately not to be. Believe Haylor Tunt has been playing well in the magoos so probably earns a chance, but I'd rather see the kids having a crack n trying to find their level rather than churning a journeyman through again.

Same TM.

Was hoping he could be given a block of 3 as I see him as a future Houli replacement.

Wasn't he given one game earlier and was dropped?

Looked he didn't play well last week but the kid needs continuity and get the pace of AFL tempo.

Oleg had 9 disposals (44% DE) & 1 tackle last week in Houli's role..

Can't afford to muck around, every game's crucial. Just wish someone else had played better than Hunt in the 2's.

I know TOO & LTRTR but if we went by stats there would be other guys in the firing line as well not just a kid who has played not more than 15 or so games.

Let's hope Hunt plays his role .

Kids need to learn you can't play like that and keep your spot. You instill this work ethic in them at a young age and don't gift them games unless you're in total rebuild.

Markov was bad, really really bad. Not only did he have only 9 touches but he fumbled every time he got it and was constantly a step slow resulting in dead offensive plays and possession gains for Port. In Menadue's worst game he was better than Markov. Not convinced Oleg worked hard enough but that's always hard to say on tv so will give him a pass there.

Oleg needs to go back and have a couple dominant vfl games. That would be the sign of a slowly maturing player.

He was shocking against Port and needs to go back to the 2's and get some form.

Great athlete, not an AFL level footy player yet.

It's a fair question Harry.
Oleg's been pretty (actually extremely) disappointing this year in most of his outings though.
I wanted to see a bit more but yes I'd have played him again ahead of Hunt seeing as the team won well last week.

disagree strongly. In the Swans game Menadue had a very good last Q after being poor. Did his best to save the game for us and almost did. Oleg on the other hand had nothing to hang his hat on last week, nothing. Stuffed up everything he touched.

Worrying point made about CEllis.
To not be in calculations and 4-5 deep at his position is upsetting.

With Lennon to massive misses in the 1st round

Oleg earned his promotion, in his last couple of VFL games he was getting back to his rebounding dashing best. It was a pity that as a result of that form he was only the emergency against Carlton, (so no football), and then elevated the next. I agree with TM that this is probably not ideal for a young player, better to promote straight into the side whilst they are confident and in form. Maybe they have learnt their lesson in not bringing Shai straight back in this week.
Will be heading down to Beaconsfield hoping to see Oleg and Shai get plenty of leather to plead their case.

Has been playing down back in the VFL, not sure he will on Sunday with Rance, Astbury, Grimes
Houli, Broad, B. Ellis and Flossy down there.

Will he play wing? Probably a good spot for him on the big ground.

Will most likely be on a wing is my guess he wont play down back there is no need for him down there and as a wingman he will have to run back to assist accross half back anyway

Some positive signs today, seems like his starting to fill out a bit, his run and carry should be valuable going forward.

There's no doubt he has dash and skill with the ball, it's when he doesn't have it that's a concern for me. A bit like Menedue, a couple more pre-seasons to add strength and confidence one-on-one.
