Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Tyre pumping moment... :vomit
Picked young Lego the last couple of seasons in the Phantom draft.
Liked him so much I picked the same player 2 years straight.
Generally know stuff all about juniors (and I get plenty wrong) but I really liked the vision of his kid from a long way out.
Good to see him taking his opportunity. With us no less. 8-
Looks like you would have paid overs in 2014

I can't believe Markov was overlooked for the rising star this week. Bloody Dunkley!

Yep the coaching staff should just leave it to Rance when it comes to Oleg and Shorty. Here is Rance's quote on RFC :
“We’ve really tried to make sure we don’t tell them what to do. We just say, ‘You guys are good enough to make your own decisions. Away you go’. And then they generally cut through them . . ."
If they go back into their shells then we will know that Dimma has got hold of them ;)

Was that last line supposed to be *inside* the quotation marks?

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Your opinions are irrelevant to us, ER, but we like hats. Shiny hats. PAX AMERIKA!

only signed an extra 1 year on top of his initial 2 year deal , now signed till Oct 2018
Ok, better then nothing I suppose, still think a Lynch type 10 year deal would be fitting ;)

This is what frustrates me with our player development....young Oleg was in his junior days a gun forward. At the draft combine he had one of the best results for the goal kicking test. His highlights on YouTube are of him playing in the forward line. This is what got him drafted.

With this in mind, our learned coaching staff decide to make him a back flanker. Now before I get hammered by everyone that he needs to learn a defensive game, why is it so hard to just let the kid learn and develop purely as a predominant forward? That is his instinctive position.

In world football (soccer), you don't convert a centre forward into defender. Markov needs to become a specialist forward who has a defensive element to his game. I think Markov will be wasted as a rebounding back flanker, a role that can be coached to most players with explosive speed. Specialist forwards are the players who are hard to find and develop.

If I recall correctly his ball use, composure n decision making for a first year player were very good as were Shorty's. All attributes that are absolute requirements for the running n creative defenders we've been lacking over the years.
Players like these two will help to change our game from stop start backwards stodge to a more open running and attacking game, isn't that what we all want?

Wait until they coach his natural run and flair out of him. Then you really will be frustrated.

Remember when he came on in his first NAB game? Played as a lead up HF and reminded me of Lids' first game v Geelong. Strong marks out in front, quick ball movement forward.

People are saying Lemon shoukd be playing Lids role. While I reckon Oleg should get first crack. Has much more pace and works twice as hard

The most important spot on the ground. The attacking skillful back flanker.

We have someone who can be best in class.

Let's let him do that. Real weapon in the making.

You convinced me of that old son.

For me Rioli & Markov both had really solid B+ years.

Footy public has completely missed it. We have a couple of legit A graders in the making.
