Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

Anyone who gains 670m (saw it posted, not sure if true) in our side deserves sainthood. Think Martin gained 284 but will probably get the Brownlow votes.

It's true Lee. Was 672m. Saw it on the Fox coverage on Friday night.

672m? Pfft. St Oleg had to carry Pope Fisteyes II's hemorrhoids that far just to put them back in his arse. It was the seventeenth love quest he fulfilled in his bid for the hand of Anastasia the Bearded (aka Frequently Raped).

Fisteyes II (aka Pope Arse Radishes) was a cruel man. But he rewarded St Oleg with a silver tampsock, with which he won the hand of fair Anastasia of Wizkergutz.

Richmond won the premiership that year.

who cares? St.Oleg is our rising star.

I care, ET. The AFL corporation's screwing of this club - spare me having to provide examples ad nauseam all over again but start with the umpiring last match (AGAIN!!!) if you need - and the media's dissing of it; but they give me an acute case of diarrhoea. In the case of the media, just look at how they are just sweating on another meltdown at PR. So suddenly all the eggspert commentators are pontificating on, "The need to cut deep," "Everyone has to be put up for trade," "Club's a basketcase again," "They've got nothing down there after the big 5," "Need to go back to the draft in blocks by trading the top 5 out," "Full 10 yr rebuild required."

This from a commentariat that wouldn't know Marcon from Markov, who cannot distinguish Hunt from Drummond or frequently confuses or just gets our players plain wrong. No idea about our VFL talent despite their winning several games over decent opp recently.

This is just more bloody crap evaluation from dumbass football people at AFL HQs. It's more of the same BS.
And what's more they'r usually getting paid top $$ for this!

Already looking crucial. Adds height, athleticism, pace, marking and proactive kicking. Not sure we have another player on our list who has all those strings to their bow.

Could be an absolute ripper this bloke. Really like his attitude. Hope the coaching staff encourage him to use his skills and attributes to their fullest. This is one player the Tigers don't want to play/mould in an inhibited manner. Encourage Lego to be the best he can be and he could be an absolute beauty for seasons to come.

I get your anger leon. But I dont mind everyone hating us and potting us and underrating us (pretty hard atm, i know)

what I hate is when tiger fans hate us and pot us and underrate us.

The footy media and commentators are not gonna threaten for a Nobel Prize.

Markov will have only played 8 games in total so he will still qualify for the Rising Star next year.

Will he be under the age limit next year??

Yeah, he'll qualify. Must be under 21 at January 1st of the reward year

my first reaction to this news was 'wow, back him at long odds now'

but weve had one winner in 25 years and i dont reckon a second year player has ever won it??

A cyber-sainthood is heaps more prestigious than a crappy RS anyway..

No Richmond 2nd year players have won it.

But there's been 10 players to win who weren't first year players (7 2nd, 3 3rd years).

interesting, thanks sb. so thats nearly half winners not in first year.

could be worth an investment on St.Oleg when the market goes up then. Hes gotta be light years ahead of this years draft crop? two years against men.

Amazing what happens when you get a kid that

(a) looks to move the ball quickly
(b) looks to move the ball forward
(c) does.

Tyre pumping moment... :vomit
Picked young Lego the last couple of seasons in the Phantom draft.
Liked him so much I picked the same player 2 years straight.
Generally know stuff all about juniors (and I get plenty wrong) but I really liked the vision of his kid from a long way out.
Good to see him taking his opportunity. With us no less. 8-

Pick 35 Adelaide

Oleg Markov (187cm midfielder) North Adelaide

With some they liked already off the board, the Crows are taking a bit of a punt here as Markov carried some injuries last year and doesn't have a lot of exposed form but looks to me he could develop into a fine player likened by some to be a similar type to Hoskin-Elliot.
The son of a pole-vaulter, markov has tremendous athleticism and tested very well at the combine particular in the speed tests.
His disposal skills look solid and we think this local lad has plenty of upside.

GWS Pick 65 - Oleg Markov (North Adelaide)

19, 188cm, 76kg, medium forward.
Has developed further this year. We feel he's worth a punt at this stage of the draft.

Yep the coaching staff should just leave it to Rance when it comes to Oleg and Shorty. Here is Rance's quote on RFC :
“We’ve really tried to make sure we don’t tell them what to do. We just say, ‘You guys are good enough to make your own decisions. Away you go’. And then they generally cut through them . . ."
If they go back into their shells then we will know that Dimma has got hold of them ;)

Think it was after the game on the weekend they asked Rance about the kids and he gave Short a big wrap.
