Welcome to the Tigers Nathan Broad

Surprised that there hasn't been more discussion about Broad's game or maybe I missed it.
Thought he was absolutely sensational & looks set to take his game up a cog.
Highly flexible with a very good mix between defence & attack. Was very composed too.
He's become a lock in this team now & a valuable one at that.

Very true TOO.

He has the ability to lock down on a forward but most importantly does not hesitate to get off the leash and become that creative defender.

Versatile players like Broad in today’s footy are worth gold.

Reckon he s bounced out the blocks much better this year than 12m ago , really taking the game on , has a few rough edges but I tell ya rarely loses a contest

I have said it before, Broady discusses his weaknesses with the coaches and with then comes up with a plan to improve. The JLT series have shown he has further improved over last year. He is never going to be a Dusty or Trent but he should continue to be a very versatile and valuable member of our best 22.

Thought he added more attack to his game, very underrated athlete who can play on many types, complements the likes of Rance, Grimes and Vlaustin very well, he’ll be there round 1.
Totally agree.

I'm amazed that people bag Broad, and Kmac for that matter.

They need to watch a replay of the Hawks final where both of them kicked ass

Has improved substantially since this time last year imo.

When he’s playing with confidence he tends to accumulate a decent amount of ball 15-20p , pretty healthy for a med defender. Interesting who he will get on Thursday , I’m thinking McGovern, rance to Curnow , astbury to McKay

I was a critic of Broad and thought he was the weak link in our side that needed to be replaced, then I started really watching him play.

Great closing speed, courage and rarely beaten in an even contest. Underrated player for mine.

I agree plus Broad was another player with a couple of injuries last year that did have an impact on his game which tends to be overlooked by many. From memory he had to have a plate inserted after he broke his checkbone.

Smashed cheek. Had a plate inserted and didn’t miss a game.
Tough hombre.

Considering the pressure they were under the defence held up as best it could.

Broad, Grimes and Tigger battled hard, none of these guys are responsible for the result

I didn't think overall the defence played well as a unit at all. Individually there were some great moments. Collingwood last 3 games now against us; 17-8, 15-7, 12-5. That's unbelievably straight kicking. Quite simply they're getting into easy scoring positions. It doesn't help up field not holding up their end of the bargain either but there's a clear pattern emerging. We're letting them get over the top and all alone or though the middle of the ground for shots directly in front. For comparison their last 6 games against other teams they've kicked 11-8, 8-15, 10-10, 11-10, 17-13, 9-11.
