Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

All elbows and knees is Marlion. He's the sort of footballer that leaves proper bruises on the opposition.
He's a natural footballer and will adapt to the speed of the game and choosing the right option.
Keep it up, Marlion.

I think he’s copping a lot of unwarranted criticism on here. He moves with the efficiency of a stingray- doesn’t make him lazy, glides at top speed - doesn’t make him slow, scares the crap out of oppo mids and genuinely hurts when he hits. His disposal is pretty good and he is definitely playing a defensive mid role. 7 games, 7. Most of our mids and forwards have been pedestrian all year. Not Marlion.

He definitely gives us a hard edge around the ball. Hes one of those skinny hard as Granite type guys. He doesn't look physically big on a screen but jeez he hits hard

People are less forgiving as he is mature age. Regardless of his age the step up to AFL still requires a lot of adjusting. I’ve been underwhelmed with him so far in 2020 but thought he took a decent step fwd last night.

Last night (from The Age):

Q: How are you enjoying more time the in the midfield?
A: It's good, it gives us young fellas a proper run.
Yeah, thought I'd misheard him at the time...... might settle right in when the family get out of their quarantine. .... imagine being one of his kids and the ride they've been on the past 12months!
Can't wait to see footage of them at training executing family blind turns!

Thought Pickett was good. 16 disposals, a goal, 7 tackles, and his hardness, I think you'd take that most games. I agree on his laconic style, makes him look like he's not trying, and some fair criticism for at times less than adequate chases in earlier games, but not last night.

If anything, he does tend to hang onto the ball for a split second too long.
Obviously gets away with it at a lower level, and sure he will adjust.

I think he holds important value for us - we are winning games with Prestia, Cotchin, Edwards, Toby out of our midfield. Add to that the loss of Ellis & we are still allowed the luxury of playing Vlaustin down back.... we are effectively playing our reserve team of 2018 through our midfield & wings atm, and winning (Soldo, Chol, Pickett, Graham, Bolton, McIntosh) + Lambert. Pretty much all those blokes were selected as rookie or 4th rounders or worse ..... and here we are sitting 4th. Pickett MUST be doing his job.

I hear ya, but correct me if im wrong that he has played reserves nearly every season so far, at some point. When the season gets to crunch though, he is ALWAYS there, pending fitness. Very important to us when the big games come knocking.

No possible way he would have got a 5 from a coach. So Most likely a 2 from one & a 3 from the other. Thought he was good without being that good though.
There is no mathematical way your breakdown works.
Two 1s makes the 3 a single. So the 2s have to be part of the two 6-votes (4+2). Leaves one more 3 to go with Egg's 5 and the other 5 to Marlion.

I haven't put as much thought into it as yourself. Was just an observation based on his performance & weather he could have got 5 from one of the coaches.

I would not be the slightest bit surprised if Dimma gave Marlion 5.

any self-respecting coach who'd read my match report would have been compelled to
