U can't properly see what key stocks we have for late 2023 as at this point last year ,we were worried about key backs, key forwards, mids,now it's looking like Taranto, Hopper, with Ross, Sonsie, and balta, gibcus as key backs, next year whom knows, Bauer,Ryan,draft,trade.

someone or something has suggested that Hopper have a chat with Damien.
maybe it’s just the routine process but I’d say the RFC wouldn’t have thrown their hat into the ring if Geelong was the certainty that was suggested.

I'm not that optimistic we have a real shot at hopper. He's been going to the sooks all year.
reckon there's his manager shopping it around to create competition and GWS / Kingsley also prob happy to have this done to ensure the sooks dont think they will get him for unders. Maybe his manager isnt convinced the sooks will pay up properly so need to see if there;s another club that will.

I was rapt GWS played hardball for Cameron, if you remember that time, it was as if the sooks couldnt believe they had to give up that much for Cameron after courting him all year. Geez, I hate everything about that club.

We need to remember that both Tarantula and Hoopsman are no longer required players at GWS - if they were they wouldn’t be openly shopping themselves around.

Its in GWS best interest that they be moved on - so that will bring down their price a little as we are taking on their salary as well.

We won’t get them for nothing nor will we pay top dollar either - I can see 3 picks under 30 this year getting the job done.

Of course we have tried - and as you all know, I reckon Blair is a gun - but think he's been off to the Cats for a while. I'm sure we are interested, but I wonder (cynically) if this isnt also a play to make sure the cats dont get him for unders given there was no other competition for Hopper from what one reads.

Me too. Hopper won't want to go to Geelong especially if they win the flag. Not sure why people think Kingsley will make decisions. He is no megalomaniac Clarko style. Who is the GWS equivalent of Hartley?

He is reasonable to deal with.

He won't be making it easy for Geesook that's for sure. They fell out over Cameron. He is also on record as saying Dudoro is a campaigner. That immediately elevates him in my mind.

I reckon Hopper will be a Tiger.

This has the same feel as when Prestia convinced Caddy to join. Anyone sensible would rather play with Taranto, Dusty, Chimp and Prestia than Dangerflog and Duckwood.
