Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

That's what's doing my head in, they need a few out, but they want him to stay. I can only assume it's because they'll get bugger all for him next year, so they want to cash in.
If they continue GWS playing this ‘tough game’ with us walk him to the Pre-season draft. I believe what we have offered is in total 7 years. 1 left at GWS and 6 from us? $ not sure. Is it $700-$750k?

Let it be known, don’t bother other clubs trying to pick him up he is RFC bound and only wants to play for us.

Let his Manager put out a ‘nice statement’ without stating anyone from the RFC.

Watch Corns go nuts.”Draft tampering, RFC shouldn’t be able to get two guns, they shouldn’t be allowed to target two players from the one club, blah blah blah….

He doesn’t realise that GWS are quite happy moving these two guys on. Hopper is contracted. The word isn’t being banded out there like the media have gone with that word ‘salary dump’ for GCS player have they? But it is! If he stays next year they get nothing.

No future picks involved.
No Soldo. But looks likely that he may be going for more opportunities?
No to Hugo.

It should get done but not if it includes our future 1st.
This is a salary dump no question and the RFC is under no obligation to pay other than a fair compensation.
A player, maybe 2 and pick 31 is that.
The clubs interests will not be properly supported if the trade includes a future 1st.
I rather if push comes to shove, pick 31 and we take over his salary for season 23.
Be reasonable GWS.
You already got 12,19 from us.

No player to be involved if it was me. I like Soldo and I see Hugo improving next year.

I get the feeling the deal is now on hold until for trades happen across the AFL. It will get done, but the details remain in flux.

So we just say to his manager, they're being a bunch of *smile*, but our offer stands for next year and we'll take you for nothing.
The talk of Haynes and Whitfield being offered and they want more than a F1st and a third rounder after just getting 2 in the top 20..........get *smile*

I suspect it was put to Hugo and he refused to go. Has all his family and friends here and going along nicely with us. Why would he leave.

Can't walk a player to the pre season draft if he's contracted.

Hugo is still very young and developing faster than those drafted around him. No one has mentioned that he's also a winner on GF day. I'd rather keep him than take pot luck with pick 30-something.

You have no concept of reality if you think a player like Hopper gets traded without a first round pick included. And please don’t mention salary dump because that’s just a fans way of hoping we get a player for nothing.

Put it this way would you want Richmond to trade Prestia who is entering his prime for Pick 31 and a fringe player?

Although it makes me bemused that we need to pay through the roof for Hopper but the media say that Haynes and Whitfield will be really cheap as GWS have to salary dump.
Simply depends on which club is trying to trade players. RFC evil arseholes that need to be punished. Any other club, delicate tender arseholes that need a gentle rub n some scented talc.

It is that, and usually the selling club (GWS) provides an incentive to the buying club (Richmond) to take on said salary, like the Suns have done with Bowes and Geelong. This isn't a salary dump, otherwise GWS would attach picks trade Hopper to us, or we would send back lower picks to them.
Maybe that's why they wanted Tarantino n Grasshopper to be done as separate deals n we got sucked into it.
Tarantino off their books, that's 600 to 700 saved.
Bobby Hill off their books another 250 saved.
Bruhn most likely off their books, probably another 300 or more they don't have to find.

Tigers want Grasshopper, then Gee Whizz have all of a sudden got enough salary cap breathing space to get by for a year n someone needs to bend over n there's no lube to ease the incoming.
