Welcome to the Tigers Jacob Hopper

Occasionally he is great. There was one delivery in the 3qr of the 20 GF when he let go to a leading, backwards to goal, George. Hit him on the chest from 60 but unfortunately a fumble followed.

He played the role so well that year and won the JDM. He is not his best at contests but kicks with both and can intercept.

I think Baker and Dan now have those hbf positions down. Wouldn’t lose sleep if he was traded but I can’t see him going to GWS this year and in any event, like him on a wing.
George fumbled ? No way.

The key to much of this will be where GWS think we are gonna finish next year. I used 7th for evaluations sake but GWS might have us higher… who knows.

But you could see 13, 20 and F1 ‘23 plus Soldo and then a early third rounder coming back to us being ballpark if you thought Soldo was 30 value.

Similar. I have a 2nd coming back, or swap, with Stack being the player. But our first two and next years 1st would need to be part of any deal for both the GWS True Romance Bros

Tony or Mitchell?

The kicks pretty well evaluation … not sure.

He’s number 3 for turnovers in the AFL. Cut him some slack for the high volume of posessions, but then again, the majority are uncontested unlike many other high rankers with bigger contested numbers eg Touk Miller, Oliver etc.

I think he’s on the inconsistent side.
Short being a good kick is the biggest myth in AFL.

Unders IMO, teams walk taller with an aggressive monster with a thousand-yard stare in the side, especially in finals. But I'll edit my value to 25-35.

Probably been said,

But if CCJ was 19,

soldo is a top 10 pick

I know he isnt.

Yeh I agree with you zipps - just struggle to understand how highly paid professional recruiters need a break after 18 picks

Not the recruiters but the AFL stretching things out to help the media partners get more content = mega new media rights deal

Afl site Riley Beveridge & Sam Hamburger
RB, 'How does Richmond get this done'?
SH 'Not sure, how they both get to Richmond, 2 1st rounders from Geelong would get it done and seems a straight forward deal'
How dumb are these fogs, he dosent want to play at Geelong..if he was so keen to play for Geelong why did he even vist punt Rd and why not announce it, if its Geelong and no one else?
The media are already circling trying to make out that we can't get both in the door
Sam Hamburger even mentioned to today Tarranto could end up at Collingwood.

Not so sure. Our selling point for Hopper would be contract length. Money wise it might be less than Taranto but not contract length.

Dont forget we are competing here with Geelong. We will need a point of difference. Contract security is where we will win out. Its a risk but to get contracted players out of their existing club plus fight off the competition, its a necessary evil.
Point of Difference.
We get upto 90k for rnd 1/Anzac day eve/Dreamtime plus finals against his former side.
vs
Farmers round.(nothing against farmers mind you)

I would be very surprised if gws wants an inside mid from us. They have them already and the picks to get more a graders straight away. They will want miles in legs, gut runners, delivery inside 50, link men, or a ruck, key defenders. We have a few. Hugo, short, soldo, Miller and dare I say it - balta will all be targeted.
They need outside run.
Hugo will be one target.(Who they can afford)

Geelong have picks 18, 36, 46
Richmond have picks 12, 19,30

Picks wise we have them covered. And if future picks are thrown up we still have them covered as all punters would probably have Geelong finishing above us next year.

So lets take Taranto out of the equation for one moment. I am saying Picks 12 & 19 get the job done.

Hopper -

Geelong offer Pick 18 & 36 - points value 1487 (equivalent to pick 9)
Richmond offer Future First (say pick 12) plus pick 30 with a future fourth coming back to us - points value 1739. (equivalent to pick 8)

Geelong could throw up a Parfitt or Esava but GWS need salary cap relief.

I just cant see how they trump us on a trade front.
Hopper is contracted so isn't it upto him where he wants to go seeing that his club wants him off their books.
If he nominates us Geelong can offer their next 10yrs worth of 1st rounders at it'll be squat.
