Welcome to the Tigers - Daniel Rioli

I don’t think this applies when Rioli has been dropped 4 times this year. The club don’t seem enamoured with his output this year either.

The criticism is well and truly warranted.
Yep - somethings not right. He's obviously not doing the power running he used to and doesn't have the 2nd and 3rd efforts. In comparison to George, who hasn't been dropped in 5 years, George must be ticking these boxes despite not getting much of it himself also.

Rioli is still young and would like to see him reprogrammed to an extent. A long stint in the VFL with clear instructions to enjoy his football and get back to his early career form where he played attacking instinctive football. Others like Parker, Baker, Mansell, Stack, HRS, etc can fill the the void in the 1sts. Rioli is too good a talent to give up on.

He has played 11 out of 13, albeit some as sub

He's come on at least twice as a sub that I can remember. Yeah reckon dropped 4 times is about right, if being dropped to medical sub is considered a "dropped"

I reckon a position change could be the move we're he can use his flair and skill weren't a try.

we laugh at the media when they keep referring to possessions as key & cant work out how we win.

Then we bag players when they don't get multiple possessions
Clearly people have expressed far more concern than his lack of disposals. If he produced even half of Cyril Rioli's influence despite limited disposals I think many would be pleased.

now we are basing his game on Cyrils !!, completely different player.

When did we ever see Cyril pushing back deep in defence

Not sure where he played on the weekend in the VFL ?

But if I was coaching I would have had him on a wing & seen if he could use his pace & get more involved. One bit of play against the Cats a few games ago I think it was , was brilliant & resulted in a goal.

At the moment he is either sub or putting in below expectation performances as a small forward, if he added that string to his bow would make him more versatile.

He’s nearly been worst on ground in each of his last few finals.
No, he hasn't. Quiet in the granny but played well in the others, including the loss to Brisbane.
QF: 10 disposals, 2 goals, 3 tackles
SF: 15 disposals, 1 goal, 3 tackles, 3 I50s, 1 clearance
PF: 13, 6 tackles, 4 I50s, 2 clearances

Give him some time in the twos to just play footy and enjoy himself. Expect him back for the flag run.

He has a proven September/October record , however spook with Aarts and Georgie locks it would appear with the MC, is Rioli the last of the smalls into that forward line ? Personally I’d have Stack and Parker in front of him , yep it’s a huge call considering the past 18 months of both boys , however both can ad more then just pressure , actually think both would do something that isn’t as important as it once was for a small forward and that’s kick goals :))

Aarts is not a lock. I'd drop him this week.

Marlion playing VFL on the weekend and with a 5 day break would indicate he'll be dropped for the Aints game. Will be unlucky if he's dropped, he hasn't done too much wrong, and could play Rioli's role better than what Dan has been playing it.

No chance Marlion gets dropped. He played VFL by request to help Parker settle in.
