If you go to the 2h17m mark you’ll see young Brayden attempt a Michael Mitchell type screamer.

I wondered the same Taz, he was named on an extended bench but he may not of been there. Daniel put a pic up on Insta with Brayden, you'd think if MJR was there he would of been in the pic too.

I just checked team lists he has played Rd 1, not named 2,3, 4 & missed the cut rd5

The site that can't be named is saying that we are close to finalising a contract for up to 3 years :clap

Hope he improves this season.
Last year was a kind of a let down

Statically he averaged more possessions, goals, tackles and contested possessions last season compared to the season before, a good effort considering he didn't have a pre season.

Was missing the razzle, had some dazzle, but sadly no razzle.

Best line of the article was: 'His long-term commitment at Punt Road will also be crucial with the impending arrival of cousin Maurice Rioli jnr, who is eligible to be drafted as a father-son in 2020.'

Really curious to see if he can have an impact as a midfielder.

Think the most underrated thing about Daniel is his ability to hit targets by foot on the run.

Wonderful touch over 40 meters. If he can be the guy who is getting it off half back and putting the ball into the 50, he can be a real weapon.

Just posted same thing on George thread. Reckon he and Butler are both very capable of hitting targets and would love both to be more involved further up the ground. Speed and skills are a good combo!

If Rioli can become a 25 touch midfielder , with his pace and line breaking ability he will do alot of damage and create some major headaches for opposition coaches

Im not sure how heavy he is but im thinking he should be close to the 80kg now and he would be strong enough to play both inside and outside at stages similar to what Edwards has done , Also have similar thoughts with Butler as well

Rotations would be amazing

We happily concede first possession at stoppages because our strength is dirtying it. Daniel helps us do that even better.

Got a feeling that might change a bit this year. Reckon we might look to improve our stoppages/clearances rather than trying to limit the oppositions effectiveness at it.

Agree, although without a tall ruck it makes it difficult to get first possession.

If we had a nic Nat or Grundy we would be unbeatable.

Yep looking forward to what dan can produce , undoubtedly came back better than most expected without a proper pre season , has grown in confidence and with more size is ready to step up with mid responsibility

Question to someone in shep yesterday.

Where did dannyboy mostly line up?

It looked a different and exciting role.

Oh my he plays a good brand of chaos ball. He was the best of our small forwards last year and looks outstanding in the centre as well.

Happy days.

You could just see the panic in the melbourne players when Rioli was near the ball

Loved it

Yep - that incredible touch and control he shows while gathering a loose ball and running at full speed is a beautiful thing.
