Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

Dimma has a history of giving players who have been at the club for a few years and are in their last year of contract a 'final' go before sending them back to the VFL never to return.

This is it for Menadue I think.

Played a great game against Port at Adelaide Oval in 2015?
Slotted a clutch goal from 55 out on an angle.
Lets hope he repeats the dose.

Appears to have pretty good skills and good pace, i think it might be a lack of confidence holding him back. Believe Connor, believe.

Gave up on this kid a while back. Surprised to see him back in.

He'd want to do something special if he wants to hold his spot next week, and at the end of the year.

Menadue is a funny one I reckon. He's fast, skilled etc...seems to have all the attributes......but just seems out of his depth at the top level. So maybe it's just confidence?

I just don't get this selection. Offers absolutely nothing. Another selection blunder. 3 weeks in a row the selectors have got it wrong.

..and don't be gutless ...

Are you suggesting that he has a bit of a look, just like Castagna did last week when he called for his mummy after spotting big Mummy :D

Yep. Just can't understand why they aren't selecting quality players like Jaaack n Tross n Dusty, Cotch, Bash n Grigga. All premium talent n yet we're scrubbing around playing the likes of Menardue, Lego
n Weller. What a *smile* disgrace the match committee are.

Unbelievably a bad selection considering who is missing.
We will be a man down even before the ball is bounced.
He couldn’t get a kick when we were dominating.

Most of us have played sport at some level ,

And may have experienced the level where you are capable of playing well at , and the level where it is a bit beyond you ,

I think it is more that , than accusations of gutless etc

At afl level sometimes it’s all too much , take them back to local club footy , they look like legends

Just the way it is , sometimes they just aren’t good enough for the top level

I’d like to see Menadue genuinely chase today. Same body type as Rioli, chases more like the P-brain instead.

It seems that there are a few posters here who want Connor to fail.

Surely we want our selection committee to reward good form in the two's and Connor has been putting good performances.

He was drafted a project player and has probably taken longer than the recruiters had anticipated.

He has genuine speed and endurance which in today's AFL is a very good start so hopefully he can develop the belief in himself and take the next step.

I'm with you yandb I'd be rapt if he could.

Don't have a huge amount of confidence in his selection however those that have watched VFL have said he deserves his chance so in that I think SC have repaid form which is the way it should be.

Like most I hope Connor can have a cracking game and start to deliver on his obvious talents.

I'm just a bit disappointed he was preferred ahead of Oleg. Reckon 2 games is not enough to find your feet at the level.
Yeh same. Oleg was scapegoated a bit I thought.

Yes he played a little nervously, but his career was on the line. Needed continuity,

Menadue will be the same today, he'll be all nervous because he knows his careers on the line. You need to give these guys more than 2 games.
