Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

Most of us have played sport at some level ,

And may have experienced the level where you are capable of playing well at , and the level where it is a bit beyond you ,

I think it is more that , than accusations of gutless etc

At afl level sometimes it’s all too much , take them back to local club footy , they look like legends

Just the way it is , sometimes they just aren’t good enough for the top level
You could have it right, kt. Menadue’s one of those players who is a bit too good for VFL, but not good enough for AFL.

I'm just a bit disappointed he was preferred ahead of Oleg. Reckon 2 games is not enough to find your feet at the level.
Could maybe have got one more game, but he also played JLT n I didn't see anything much in the games he played that impressed me. Double grabbed at most balls n to easily bodied out of contests.

Much of muchness really both have been hopelessly out of their depth at AFL level in the past 2 seasons.

Funny part is Oleg was looking quite likely at the end of 2016, Menadue has never really looked likely.

Markov was dropped for Houli not Menadue, and obviously his reasons for being dropped were requiring remedy in the VFL, hence he wasnt given another run and they gave it to Connor who apparantly had played well recently.

great game son.

THAT kick inside was superb and match turning.

I want to apologise for not believing in you tonight kid

im sorry

:clap

Connor has developed some self belief and it showed last night.

Best game for Richmond so far, that kick inboard was inspired that resulted in a goal was inspired.

Never best 22 , but credit where it’s due , to win this game we needed everyone to put in , and I thought he did

He came in and did ok, what you want for your depth player to do. If Houlis fit for Sydney I guess Connor goes out for him.

Yep it's the difference between a player who comes into the AFL system and looks comfortable at the level i.e Higgins, Stack and Ross or a depth player like Menadue. He did his job yesterday but can he do this consistently?

Did his job, a few really nice touches and the times he got caught he was either on a hiding to nothing or taking the game on, and it was his first game back in the big time. Deserves another game, or at least I'd like to see him play another game or 2, but mightn't get one because he's at the end of the queue.

Yeah, but how many metres did it gain? Shorty would have gained 60 metres and a throw in. Menadue only gained 5 metres and a set shot from 35 out straight in front.

Thought it was one of his better AFL performances, in a perfect world he would now get a run of games to build on, however I don’t think he’ll get that chance, fact is he had to have done more to cement his spot for next week. With Shedda now playing half back it makes his task to be a regular a lot harder.

Not the worst to have as a depth player, however this is his 5th year not his second.
