Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

His tackle on Goddard was huge. But would still like him to be getting more involved & are yet to be convinced he is going to make it long term for us. Hopefully he can build from this & continue to impact games

Hmm, I reckon he's going to be another Richmond draftee who doesn't achieve much but will be given plenty of time not to achieve it.

Yeh, Corey Ellis reputation so far has been established on one short pass to Deledio. Menadue has a few bounces down the wing and makes a straight forward tackle and he's a star in the making.

I'd just like some good solid footballers. Sammy Lloyd is a good solid footballer. Anthony Miles is a good solid footballer (yet I understand why he is not playing).

Your bar is low.

Averaging 11 disposals a game this year

Career average is just over 11.

He has pace which is crucial, but star suggests an elite player in the making.

You look at players drafted around him who have done more, Maynard, Blakely, Neal-Bullen, Miller, McGovern, Daniel - I don't think any of them are going to be elite although Daniel is the best performed to now and Blakely perhaps the pick of them from a future point of view.

You wouldn't seriously take Menadue as the first picked from that bunch would you?

Rubbish, it's just a recognition that some players take longer than others.

Menadue is one of those.

Which part Baron? All of it because I disagree with you?

You failed to answer the question.

Agree ... but he is moving forward at a faster rate than some of his team mates in the 2s i.e. CEllis, Lennon, Chol

Your position on Menadue is rubbish. Want me to say it again? :hihi

He's a late bloomer, but has the tools. Persist. Blind Freddy can see this.

I see Connor as the modern day version of Nathan Bower and my guess is he,ll have a similar career. (Bower played 8 seasons for 74 games, averaged 11 disposals a game)

Better than Bower. May have the odd hiccup, but I see him as a 150 gamer

Menadue is only 20yo, it's just his 3rd season. It's not easy for the skinny buggers, often takes them longer to make their mark. I still have faith, no guarantees, but he is showing a bit. I agree he needs to get into the game a bit more, that's his challenge.

Well if he finds a superstar bunny like Bower did with Matera, I'll take it.

Not a star but far from a bust. Footscray friends of mine reckon the constipated game plan really messed with his head. looks to be free of that doubt now.

Who knows how he will end up.

PRE was in raptures about Markov last year and he can't get a game now.

You just never know what will happen.

Markov had a good game last week and was in the best at VFL level , Markov / Menadue / Graham / Bolton / Stengle / Chol / Garth / Soldo / Moore
All these players are 1-2 years away from being ready for AFL level realistically sure they are getting a few games here and there but the club would be looking at them as the future and they do need development - Not all kids are ready to go , Some need to get to 21/22 year of age before being both physically and mentally mature to play consistently at the highest level

Out of interest turk, where's Markov been playing in the 2's? He got a gig off half back last week which I think was because Darley was out? Is that correct?

I think he's a half back but we've been playing him forward in the 1's. Interesting to see if thats the same in the 2's.

Played HB and wing the times i have seen him and occasionally drifts foward,But more wing going back to help down back

I would like to see him eventually improve enough in 2 years to be the Houli replacment

24 and 26 disposals the last 2 weeks. Hopefully he keeps that up in the 2's. He'll be back in the 1's by the end of the year if he does, hopefully down back and not forward.
