Yep, about sums it up. Most had a soft spot for the bullies but that's taking it a it far for a kid that's done sfa. They should make him wear it at tackling practice in the Pre-season.

That would look funny.

41 players standing around waving teir arms coralling one individual in Dog colours.

Seriously, massive non event in my opinion

Joel Selwood went to his mad Monday dressed as Jake King in a Richmond jumper a few years ago didn't he? Was he crucified for that by his club and supporters?

Selwood did it on the day everyone accepts it, MAD MONDAY, unless the Grand Final day is called SILLY SATURDAY now it's not on.

It's these little things that make up the sum of our parts & results.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

maybe Connor could have had a Tigers jumper on saying "go dogs" ?

would that have kept the purists happy ?

Agree.

The closest thing I can remember is when I read a Wayne Harms profile. Apparently someone asked him who he barracked for as a kid and he said 'Richmond, still do' he explained it later saying I barrack for Richmond, I work for Carlton.

This is an interesting notion.
Some of us grow up as very passionate supporters of a footy club and I for one reckon if I'd been good enough to play in the AFL, I wonder how I would have reconciled who I barracked for with who I played for.
I can understand Harms' position completely.

Having said that, all of my family on my father's side are mad Tiger fans and one of my cousins played a handful of games in one year at the Hawks in the 1970s.
He's been a Hawks fan ever since.

It's a special technique called the 'Morris'... it gets Dimma every time.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Menadue was a bit hard to gauge at times last year.

He definitely dropped off a bit during his time in the seniors. Looking back on that I think he just got worn down.

It was his reserves form after that that I've had to stew over. I think he was playing a bit too much to instruction. Almost letter of the law stuff. And his form wasn't as good as I expected. It was a bit paint-by-numbers. He could get a kick just not as many as I thought he might have.

I am certain that it's about maturity. That Connor is young and spirited. And maybe not ready for some of the limitations of senior footy.

I was and am entirely happy that he spends time with McRae. But it wasn't happening quickly. The penny drop.

His intra club form had been more of the same. Paint by numbers and this time not enough activity. Thats why I was surprised to hear that he had excelled in last week's reserves hit out. He knows that he's being passed by others and he has to fight for a spot. *smile*, he's growing up.

He's the type who can come on quickly. A big watch for 2017.

I'm not as big a fan as others Jack, however with a lot more genuine ball winners in the middle CM could well be able to play to his strengths and give us great run and speed on the outside, if he runs hard enough they'll use him a lot

Spot on!

With Prestia, Vlaustin and Caddy all spending time in the middle there will be opportunities galore for the outside players to link up and get involved on the spread. Quicker ball movement out of the back half should also help players like Connor.

If given the opportunity he could really excel.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I would play him this week with a view to round 1. We need his skill set in the team.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Connor has forced his way into the side. Good times.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Good to see him selected. Can't remember if he tackles, but his kicking is quality.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

We are seriously quick team now

Butler rioli Connor George kmac grimes

All super quick

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Massive oppurtunity for Menadue to cement his spot in front of the likes of Markov, C Ellis, Drummond and put some real pressure on all the outside runners I.e B Ellis

It is. Also likes to get on the end of a passage of play and kick a goal. I will be looking for gut running both ways out of him.
