Would like to know Gresham's stats. No way could he have a better game than Menadue

I don't think they vote by who was best in just the current round.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

They mustn't!

Gresham = 11K, 5H, 3M, 2CLG = 16Ds @ 87.5% DE

Menadue = 7K, 12H, 7M, 0CLG = 22Ds @ 94.7% DE

You can go back and examine previous games if you like but don't think Gresham has even played that many. You'd have to say that his match was a lot 'hotter' than ours competition-wise though. Gresham goal being such a highlight and matchwinner the big factor IMHO.

Overall, Mena maybe a bit hard done by.

Yep Donga Menadue was stiff

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

supercoach/CD is a surprisingly useful way to rate players. It takes a lot of personal biases out of the equation.

Gresham was probably slightly ahead of Menadue prior to last game but now Menadue has moved ahead.

I wouldnt worry. Mendue only needs one more good game and he'll get a nomination.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Correct - 19, sorry. My dumb.

19 disposals for Menadue. Reckon they took the opposition into account.

as they should when playing brisbane or essendon.

Gresham also had a goal, 2 goal assists, 8 inside 50s, 6 contested possies. Was easily his best game for the Saints. Menadue will get his if he keeps playing like he did on weekend.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Started off on fire. Dropped off significantly after quarter time but gee looks the goods!

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Pity that ball didn't sit up for him running into goal. Had another good game. Just needs another 15kg

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I'm really liking Connor.
Knows how to get it. Has speed, makes pretty good decisions. Must be played the rest of the year.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Getting better.

Holds his spot for the rest of the year.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

For a "runner" he runs out of puff. He was gone after qtr time.
Who the hell is our fitness dude?

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Like others have stated must be played every week. At least we he has skillset that will make him a decent player over time.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Has absolutely no fear. Relishes the contest. Star in the making and after Vlossy has had a turn could even be a captain of the club.
On another note - I went over to the game on Friday night... Boy we are truly a soft rudderless mess. Just nothing there as a collective.
So so disappointing. I've seen just about every game for the last 38 years and slowly but ever so surely they have drained my enthusiasm. Just go Hardwick, please just go. And whoever comes in - please please give me back my team.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Watching the VFL team side playing. What strikes you is that they are NOT a team.
Went to Wiki to look up the definitions of "team" compared to "group".
Stunning how it stands out that we do not have teams at Richmond.

Wiki:
"A team is a group of people or other animals linked in a common purpose. Human teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.[citation needed]

A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Naresh Jain (2009) claims:

Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond his or her limitations. Teams can be broken down into from a huge team or one big group of people, even if these smaller secondary teams are temporary.[1]

Astounding that the board and staff like Richardson or Gale cannot see something that seems really obvious from outside.
Watching the VFL it is obvious that they do not have a common purpose but an individual aim.
as you say, just go Hardwick. Take McCrae and the other dummies with you.

He started like an absolute house on fire but did fade out of the contest which was diappointing.
Still there are some fantastic signs for this kid...

Thought the VFL team did pretty well against Casey who are top of the ladder.

What I did see was a team that played terribly for parts of each quarter but then really turned it on for the rest of the quarter.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

yeah but they play the same as the seniors. Backwards sideways and slow play. Always put the player under pressure with he handball.
