What an odd thing to hate. Many teenagers aren't physically ready to play contact sports at the professional level, it is an entirely valid opinion for people to hold.
Yep, an occasional handful of teens can manage the load straight up, most can't. Most of the yank sports take their draftees from the college system don't they? Aged more around the early twenties rather than eighteen.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

How many of our first round draft picks in the last 10 years played in their 1st season and were disadvantaged in their development as a result?

There are lighter players in the AFL that have played without any adverse results.

If Connor is up to the task physically during the NAB cup why hold him back because he might get hurt. (he can just as easily get hurt in the VFL)

Well said

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

It's not even so much the physical side of it, but the understanding of gameplans and structures, and the ability to make the right decisions under a higher level of pressure. Why throw a kid to the wolves when the whole purpose of getting a two's side up and running was for the kids to learn these things until they become autonomous.

When they are, then play them. Some are better at it than others.

Why do we worry so much?

If he can handle match simulation / intraclub games, understands the structures and deserves a spot ... give him a game.

He might get injured? Well ... he might not.

He was recruited to play football. I'm sure he understands the risks.

Let him play.

It's true
Connor could get injured
But so could ivan Jack trent Brett & Shane

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Whisper section of the Herald Sun stating Connor in line for round 1 due to blistering pace. Good to see exactly what we need and sick of conservative selections

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Seems to be pushing hard for a senior spot which is great. Unlikely as it is would be exciting to see him debut against the Pies.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Unleash him. Great to see. Take Em on, be brave. Run around them. You get caught, run faster next time.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Really keen to see the kid in action. Please let him have a bit of space and time out on the wing. Don't put him in the back pocket.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

In the VFL broadcast they said Menadue is at the G and likely to be a late in for either Deledio or Shane Edwards.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Go kid
Good luck
Two debutants today, Elton 2 games , C Ellis 2 and Mc 6.

The future

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I watched the telly, and saw someone put a jumper on a broomstick. At first I thought it was Broomhead, then realised he played for Collingwood.

Was it Menadue?
