Welcome to the Tigers - Connor Menadue

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Ok to give this kid a game or two but clearly dont want to ruin him by throwing him in when his body is not ready.
Dont think the coaching staff would be that silly
We hope :-\ :-\

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Who is claiming his body is not ready? Impey from Port is smaller and lighter so what is the issue?

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

If the kid deserves a game through form good luck to him even if he does look like Bobby Sands.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

When he's running and bouncing down the wing away from his opponent and kicking a goal from 50 the last thing the opposition will be concerned about is his size :clap

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Nat Fyfe was 73Kgs and 190cm in his debut year and played 18 games. Connor is 187cm and 69kgs. I don't think it is out of the realms of possibility for Connor to play even 10 games. He is hardworking and seems to not mind the rough stuff. Could be an inspired pick.

Who is claiming his body is ready ?
Jack Martin is the same height and weight and did his shoulder in his first game !!!

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Why do we worry so much?

If he can handle match simulation / intraclub games, understands the structures and deserves a spot ... give him a game.

He might get injured? Well ... he might not.

He was recruited to play football. I'm sure he understands the risks.

Let him play.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

I know that Victoria is known as the nanny state but why should we be known as the nanny club.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

Congratulations Connor - You've been selected to play round 1.

I can't - I'm too skinny! ::)

Agree entirely. I hate it when people say he's a kid let him develop in the twos for a year or two. What for he's here to play afl if he's showing something give him agame.

Re: Welcome to the Tiggers - Connor Menadue

How bout we just play him when the match committee think his strengths and abilities are going to outweigh his short comings?
He could injure himself in training or in VFL or AFL. If it's going to happen, it'll happen regardless of where he is.

Geeze roll around Rd 1 please!

That's not the correct use of the vernacular "jungle fever"
I know because I have it.

Steady on. They may be ready to tear the game apart as a teenager, but did you see what all that early success did to Boris Becker?

Ok I'll bite and check whether you were being sarcastic......Backed it up by defending his Wimbledon win the following year?
End of year rankings after his Wimbledon breakthrough......1985 6, 1986 2, 1987 5, 1988 4, 1989 2, 1990 2, 1991 3, 1992 5, 1993 11.

Best keep Connor away from restaurant broom closets.

What an odd thing to hate. Many teenagers aren't physically ready to play contact sports at the professional level, it is an entirely valid opinion for people to hold.
