Welcome to Richmond Chris Yarran

Hardwick wanted to move the ball quicker from the back line this year and HAS stated that , but with Yarran out all year Deledio missing many games ,Houli also this was not possible .
The game plan WILL change big time IF these play most games next year , remember Markov will be a starter next year also .
Good times are coming with faster ball movement next year..

Takes more than that to implement fast ball movement you realise Guts.

It also takes a coach that can instil all the correct running patterns moving the ball until it becomes second nature.

The coach also needs total belief in this attacking plan and to not fall back or waver when things get tight or tough.

Only this gets complete buy-in from the players.

That aint conservative our accountant Dimma.

Good point lazy about the not wavering. Dimma can't afford big losses.

Fast ball.movement ?? I recon the players listed above would have that covered !!

Hey Leysy. Given we did it early in his coaching tenure, surely you'd have to think that if he wants the team to move the ball faster, and he has players capable of doing so, then surely he's capable of doing it again.

My concern is do we have the players to do it, my big concern is still Astbury, he can take a grab but he looks petrified at the prospect of playing on.

Early on he had job security. Next year he will be coaching for his career. Will he stay the course if we suffer early losses? History suggests no when it comes to Hardwick.

Fast ball movement isn't a problem, we've shown plenty of times that we're capable of fast ball movement.

Our major issue with ball movement is controlling the retention bit while moving the bloody thing.

We're chronic at turning over the ball from poor skills at crucial moments and having opposition sides waltz through our out of position attacking players who then get torched on the turnover.

Watching the youngsters like Ollie Markov, Shorty, CEllis, Mendoo generally use the ball well has been one of the few pleasures of this footy season. A healthy Yazzy would be an additional bonus in ball use.
Less turnovers also means a hell of a lot less exhausting n confidence sapping turning around n chasing arse the other way purely due to poor skills.

The topic is Yarran it was dicey at best we recruit him when he turned up unfit then took time off well all I can say is if he plays one game I would be astonished

Good to hear. People underestimate how much a fit Yarran changes the dynamics of our team.
I would be happier for a fit and interested Yarran in our team. The trouble is as he showed at Carlton, disinterest in playing was his biggest problem

Poor attempt at spin there gutfull, Short and Markov easily coverd the injuries in the backline and Deledio doesn't play back.

Hardwick is just a poor coach.

I think we can put his recruitment down to poor research and analysis , as hard as what has happened may have been to predict it appears a lot was known in the industry. However hopefully Yarran gets his cards aligned and can prove to be a very good 100 gamer for us.

Looks like we have paid massive overs for Yarran.

Richardson gave up our pick 31 last season and pick 24 this season for pick 18 for Yarran.

The two picks add up to a pick 11 according to the draft pick ratings by the AFL.

Pick 11 for a player who may never play for us.

Why are we letting Richardson do our negotiations for us.

Yarran was also playing in the VFL, a top 20 pick for a guy struggling to play seniors should be a no-no, under all circumstances. Add in the fact that he would have been free agent this year and this deal is shaping up as the worst of the decade.

Hard to argue against that. I see Cloke as a similar discard not getting a game for a fellow also-ran.

I don't care about Yarran's personal situation because my interest is his contract obligations to the club. The club that he hasn't played 1 game for yet. I wish him well in exorcising his own demons - I am not being flippant here but as as I am concerned my concern is the club's interest first.
