Welcome Sam Naismith

Never knew about all the family tragedy in Sam's life until they alluded to it on SEN...
He's had a pretty tough time of it coupled with all his injuries, so I can only wish him every ounce of luck at the Tigers.
He sounds so appreciative of the opportunity so I doubt we'll die wondering on what he'll bring.

He’s in good hands. The same guys that looked after Lynch and Gibcus will look after him

Naismith lauded by Port Melbourne coach

Richmond ruck recruit Sam Naismith had a profound impact in just one season at VFL club Port Melbourne, both on and off the field.

The former Sydney ruckman, who joined Port Melbourne this year, impressed the Borough’s coach Adam Skrobalak with his attitude from the time he arrived at the club.

Skrobalak, an assistant coach with St Kilda before taking the coaching reins at Port, sang Naismith’s praises in the lead-up to the AFL’s mid-season rookie draft.

“He has come down here and just worked his butt off and shown he is definitely up to it, not just at stoppage but around the ground,” Skrobalak said.

“He’s been fantastic for us so far . . . he has really led the way as a leader.

“He’s very physical, tackles very, very hard.

“Any AFL club that sees his ability not only to win hit-outs and clearances, but to follow up and help your smalls, I think he can slot in no problem at all.”

Last week, when the Tigers secured Naismith’s services as a delisted free agent, Skrobalak again paid tribute to Naismith.

“Sam bought into Port Melbourne from day one,” Skrobalak said.

“Good things happen to good people.

“You have a ripper, Richmond.”

Nank clone by the sounds except for the lack of marking .
Having said that nank's seems I decline too

Long shot. I’ll get excited when I actually see him play. Expectations are low.
Expect the combinations of Nank and Nais to do well. Throw in further development of Samson. keeping forwards Kosi, Bauer & Lynch. Will be a strong men line up. Need the centres to work well with them on board.

I remember watching Naismith work Nank over against us in an early game after Toby came to us and immediately thought I understood why Sydney let Nank go when they had Naismith already. Ironic he will be playing with us now. He is that monster ruck size 206 cm against Nank 199 cm. Can;t be a bad thing. Both aggressive ruckman.

Hmm, 206cm, built like a brick shithouse, what's not to like about that?

He always gets injured that's 1
He struggles to mark a sherrin that's 2
This is the same over excitement we showed when we lost Charles and brought in McKee & Steinfort.
If Naismith can help out it will be a bonus but I'm not getting carried away we aren't bringing in Greg Stafford

I've seen it too many times.
Tim Fleming the next bull midfielder.
Naish the best winger since Robbie flower
Ricky Pettard the classy foward
Mitch Farmer the next Wayne Campbell
They have picked a bloke up because they know deep deep down Nakas is finished.
It's not the clubs fault Essendon begged Phillips to stay and they picked up a bloke older then me. Collingwood were after a bloke that couldn't get out of bed because of his knees are gone..
There are NO talls coming through.
I've said it a long time if you have tall kids
Get them to play footy, 3-4 yrs. They will have a house paid off.
