Welcome Sam Banks

Looked a lot better than his first 2 debut games.

Did some of the Rioli charge off half back while Rioli was getting tagged.

Excellent initiative. Played well.

I think he still goes out for Shorty, but he adapted in Game 3 and was valuable.

Excellent particularly in the last term with the game on the line having 5 possessions.
This is exactly what I hoped to see. Well done Sam.

Dunno why we waste so much time n energy picking kids apart in their first game or two, or even their first senior year. There's talent in all of the youngsters that make AFL lists, it just needs time and development to get it out of them consistently. Not one or two games.

I’m wondering at what point do we try Banks on a wing instead of McIntosh.
Had flappers not redeemed himself in the last quarter, it could have been as early as next week. May need to build more muscle/contested game before being considered a wingman?

I don’t think he will ever muscle up like Macca he’s too naturally lean. He actually reminds me of Langdon at the demons.

Agree, he won't but should. Flappers is one if not the strongest wingers going around. At least another 5kgs of muscle mass is more than reasonable and attainable.

Possibly - one other issue is we have too many half backs. Tresize looks very good at VFL level too.

I agree he needs to bulk up a bit but he won't look like Macca. Different type of player and build

Who’d have thought that two weeks ago this bloke was universally acknowledged as the worst ball user in the AFL. Sure, it was after only his first game but that’s the level his senior career started at.

It was only against Hawthorn but in his third game Sam Banks sent the ball in twice in the first half with vision and precision. Unlike most of his more experienced team mates.

His discipline was impeccable. Position. Tackling. First rate. If he got lost by a metre a couple of times he never lost line of sight and quickly recovered. Seems to be fearless too.

Late in the game as if by specific instruction he cut loose. Amazing coachability. Then there's the small matter of impact. He didn't quite rip the game open, did he?

Youth (talent) that emerges after the byes can take a side places. Two running backs. That *smile* is gold. Any sane man wants to see where this goes in 2023.

Short,Rioli, banks, all 3 boys could easily play as wings allowing others like Trezize etc a half back roll.

Short is almost certain come back in - Think banks needs stay in to continue on from last week better form. Not sure how we fit everyone in
