Welcome Liam Baker

I know we are down near the bottom now but one thing that has distinguished our club in the last 7-8 years is that no one we really wanted to keep has left.
Maybe Higgins but I am not even sure about that?
CCJ, Chol, Soldo …possibly but not high profile.
No one of the status of Bakes
Butler is the one that shouldn't have gone.

Agree worst I've seen for a while. Only an exterior view but that wasn't the game of a player fully invested. Maybe a decision has been made.
Then don't play him.
Smiling when we are 6 goals down got me so angry.
If he isn't invested. Put time into someone who is.
Yze hasn't got the balls.
Beveridge would.

Or he is a single 26yo guy who is very good money now, and will be even better money in a few months. and who enjoys golf.

he probably has money to burn.
Probably a hell of a lot cheaper and healthier than getting on the punt like so many players do.

So, that means what? There wasn't room for him? Course he could have stayed.
I didn’t say he couldn’t have stayed. He could have stayed if he wanted to but he asked to leave and he was out of contract. He got a good offer and what he considered a better chance to get a game consistently.

It’s just normal football business. We wanted him to stay and he got a better offer elsewhere and if you recall our salary cap was bursting at the time.

He's played the last month fully invested.
I wouldn't be too quick to judge.
Felt like the whole team were too emotional and hadnt handled the week well.
IMO Bakes will give 100% regardless of his decision.

One game TOO. He had a poor one but you can’t assume he has checked out after that. Let’s see him over the next few weeks.

Bad call there

Highest tackles.
Highest pressure acts.
3rd highest contested possessions
You don't do that stuff if you've given up.

He was the worst with the ball though, excluding Cumberland. Butchered it. I think he was trying too hard.

Baker will win the JD this year

1 bad game and some here ready to dump FMD
It's the standard PRE recipe. If you're an experienced player, one bad game, you're out the door or back to reserves. 10-game youngster, well you better be a superstar by now or out the door.
