Welcome Liam Baker

Just watching a clip of Shorty on YouTube and he mentioned Bakes has just signed up as a member of The National Golf Club and that maybe the money is rolling in.

Fair commute from Perth.....

9.30 mark

Pretty sure the National is a bit different to typical golf club memberships. You buy a share which you can then on sell to another member when you leave, sometimes for a profit even. So I wouldn't take that as a sign that he's staying.

You're probably right, but signing up 6 months out from leaving the state seems a bit odd. Got my fingers crossed anyway.

With current “C Class” memberships coming in at around $50k, it’s a fair chunk to fork out and then cop a 10% transfer fee 6 months later when he sells.
Could have easily leased a share and just payed green fees.
He loves his golf and he loves Victoria.
Think he stays and signs a 4 yr extension

The outpouring of emotion and respect for Dusty, the one club legend, will not be lost on Bakes.

I reckon he’s staying.

I know we are down near the bottom now but one thing that has distinguished our club in the last 7-8 years is that no one we really wanted to keep has left.
Maybe Higgins but I am not even sure about that?
CCJ, Chol, Soldo …possibly but not high profile.
No one of the status of Bakes

Yep. He will be thinking how big own his 300th will be when he is a 4 or 5 time premiership hero.

BT Tiger - thank you - but I'm not sure where you get this impression:

Indeed - not sure there are many clubs in Australia that offer that style of Membership (it's more akin to Asian clubs - especially Singapore)

I respectfully suggest if true that Baker just applied for/was accepted as a National GC Member - that he intends to spend a LOT of time in Victoria........... (more than could be justified living in WA - where there are myriad Private courses he could join otherwise)

Or he is a single 26yo guy who is very good money now, and will be even better money in a few months. and who enjoys golf.

he probably has money to burn.

He was poor today.

Not due to lack of effort, but some of his disposal was woeful.

Still not as consistent as I'd like him to be.

IMO he’s not a midfielder He’s a part time forward who struggles to kick a goal
He’s better as a HB or BP

Therefore anything more then 600k
Let him go.
You don't pay HB or BPockets 600k.
Today showed that his head isn't where it should be.
We are down by 30 and he misses a basic set shot and he is laughing.
It got me Angry. No time to laugh
