Swap for Vloss in Round 5. Gets a good taste of it (4 games). Still too raw to influence, just looking for the moments that validate his high selection.
So Charlie Curnow 5 Goals 16 disposals against Doggies, vs 0 goals and 8 disposals against Gibcus.
Makes Josh's round 1 debut look that little bit better
Has earned his spot in round 2 but as others have said will need to take a rest soon as his body is not yet ready for consistent AFL
Injury aside i think he will play every game.Gibcus hasn't missed a session all pre-season that says to me he is coping with the loads pretty well, manned up on Jack Reiwoldt all season and more than held his own. Why would you want to send him back to the VFL to play with those schmucks, (only one practice game but our VFL side was a mess last week, good luck learning anything if they keep that up), I would much rather him be learning his trade from the likes of Grimes and Tarrant in live situations.
I haven't noticed them managing Gibby at training but they are old man Cotch and Shai so maybe those boys need a rest .
PS. I'll look stupid when they rest him next week
As long as he's holding up he should play its looking like a season that may allow for some real rapid development for some quality kids.Injury aside i think he will play every game.
I know your are far more knowledgeable than I will ever be on footy and especially the Tigers and I lean on your comments for factual info so I take your comments on board without argument. However from watching the Carlton game twice it was apparent to me that Josh simply ran out of gas in the fourth quarter so lost a little of his effectiveness. No doubt he is going to be one of the best draft acquisitions we have had in a long time but I just wonder if his tank and build is ready right now for AFL especially when it gets hard and ugly in the winter. More than happy to be proved wrong yet again so until then I agree, just play himGibcus hasn't missed a session all pre-season that says to me he is coping with the loads pretty well, manned up on Jack Reiwoldt all pre-season and more than held his own. @UKTiger I certainly don't profess to know more than others, just good to debate pro's and con's with others.I know your are far more knowledgeable than I will ever be on footy and especially the Tigers
No doubt will need a rest at some stage, no first year kid can last a full seasonHas earned his spot in round 2 but as others have said will need to take a rest soon as his body is not yet ready for consistent AFL
Deledio did. I think Dusty only missed 1 in his first season, and that was because they didn’t want to expose him or a developing Cotchin to the almighty hiding that the Cats gave us that day.No doubt will need a rest at some stage, no first year kid can last a full season
Loved the mark he took over the top of them too.Kid can seriously kick!!
