Welcome Jacob Blight

Had a good magoos game, as per Gray I'll be happy to see him get settled into the magoos, do a full pre season and then show what he's got during next year. Got me a feeling that if either of the newbies get thrown into the seniors this year that there'll be nuffers just hovering over their keyboards n waiting for them not to be stars so that they can start on the dismantling process asap.
The trouble is, we have so many injuries to players, it may be necessary to promote either or both of the newbies sooner than we would like. Like you, I would prefer to get them settled into our club to learn the game plan and team mates before rushing them into place they may not be yet ready

Blight played well in the VFL yesterday. His strengths were obviously marking and positioning himself as well as reading the play. His major flaw i found was he was very fumbly below the knees. I hope it was a one off nervous day.

can't see how he breaks into the side unless Balta is moved forward/injured + Miller

Would Miller, Balta, Blight not be workable? Blighty takes the gorillas, Miller can play tall or medium small, Balta does what Balta does.

Besides Tom Porkins at Geelong, how many gorillas are in the comp?

Most key forwards are athletic talls these days.

Interesting to know how quick he is / isn't.

The simple fact is, now's the time to experiment.

I'd like to see Yze try things that exploit Balta's pace. Maybe at times there's a set play where Balta charges forward on transition, to provide a good target out the fat side. But part of the set play has to involve a handover from Balta so his opponent is covered.

Unfortunately backline is settled. Should’ve took another forward. Good back up I guess.

With back men now running off their players and teams playing a defensive zone, it’s killed the gorilla forward

Stephen May plays this role.
Thats the setup I'm looking at.

If he's good enough then we'll get a structure to suit.

How many times do teams bomb long to the goal square?
The pack mark. This is the young Blighty gig

It’s bull dust that this guy is stuck in the VFL and not playing seniors.

He should be playing fullback for North Melbourne. What is going at that club. Crying out for key defenders and they let this guy slip through and draft another small.

Do you not think there are benefits to him learning the team structures, teammates names etc before jumping into an AFL game?

Don’t think that was his point. Think he was just wondering why north didn’t pick him with 1.

Looks an AFL footballer to me.

I assume North reckon they have enough depth with Pink and Biggie :ROFLMAO:
