Welcome Hugo Ralphsmith

He’s improved a little but geez the bar is set low for a 5th year player. I think we can do better.
a bit harsh :)

Drafted in 2019, VFL played 0 games in 2020 and only 10 + 3 practice games in 2021 - effectively 18 months of very limited football considering he played 6 AFL games in 2021

No played 39 games in a team that has only won 14

Harsh? Possibly. We all see players a little differently I guess Taz..
But your excuses above certainly hasn't stopped you delisting your boy Cumbo several times already who was taken in that same draft, had a knee reco in between & has been gifted numerous less games..but yeah possibly I was being a little harsh mate.
;)

Hugo’s game tonight deserves some love. He’s turning into a hard running winger. Exactly one area we need a boost in.

Some great pressure acts and near intercepts to break up the Crows play.

Another guy who's stepped up.

Like Grover just gets a hand in on the contest.

Only goes down as a spoil on the stats sheet, but I reckon Ralphsmith had around five critical pressure acts before he got his first possession.

Runs hard, pressures hard and most importantly this season, IS hard.

Breakout.

Not getting big possession numbers he’s having big impact on games. Defensive efforts and hard running are there for all to see. Massive improver this year.

I was surprised to see he only had 7 disposals all game. I thought he was involved in much more play than that.

39 games now for a number 46 pick - we are starting to see another young player emerge, it been hard for Hugo but he is now showing us more than the odd glimpse of what he good be.

Great running and has enough confidence now to show a bit of mungrel which every good winger has.

Has been transforming in front of our eyes.

Would love to be a fly on the wall and know how much if it has been specific coaching and how much of it has been just positive encouragement from the new coaches.

Looked like a galloping pony with diabolical disposal last year, and is now turning into a tough competitor that’s getting to the right spots.

Agree with everything that has been said in the previous 11 posts. He’s become fearless and his attack aerially and at ground level on contests has been a massive positive. Saved half a dozen goals and broke down a lot of transition setups of the Crows. Very hard to get a kick on him because with his speed he closes down on you very quickly.

Agree. Stats schmats. Loved his 1%ers around the ground. Just needs better support when he does these and the ball's loose.

Last month of football has been top notch.

He has now added footballer to athlete.

Has been extremely sharp in the contest.
