Week 1 AFL Finals Series

Bit of advice needed, a couple of mates (future Tiges supporters who live in NNSW but are not members) is general admission the only way to go? And also what is the go with standing room at the Gabba, seen heaps of people standing, do they buy a seat and just stand up? Thanks.

The Australian National Hotel (aussie nash) is the action attraction. good vibe and good feed. It will be packed though, the barmaid who loves my older bro, cannot stand me for some reason, I think it was because I ate a free party pie designated punters only when I was only placing 5 buck bets. She has a memory like an elephant. The Lord Stanley is a bit quieter and a few blocks down the road, good feed too, that was where fev came undone. The bar manager at the Norman is a mad tiger, but he probably won't be on for obvious reasons. Daniel Rich spends a LOT of time there on the punt. Brisbane Brewhouse is good, few blocks away, good feed and the beer they brew there is pretty good.

I've never felt the vibe on the Pineapple, the bouncers are annoying, its OK I suppose.

The best pub by far used to be the Gabba Hotel, right opposite the Gabba, RIP, they knocked it down to build ugly flats about 15 years ago.

And you get the best steak at The Norman.

Brisbane pubs know how to do steak. Parma is for wankers up there.

Agree. The Morrison also does good steak; that’s not far from the Gabba is it?

Brekky Creek hotel does great steak as well but it’s over the river.

But go to the Brekky Creek if you enjoy a rum.

That wall of rum is superb.

Friday’s are good days!

Apparently the Shafston is the official RFC supporters pub. Flea will MC and start the march to the Gabba at 5.30pm.
Thinking the Story Bridge myself

forgot about the Shafston. Used to be a no-go zone back in the day, done up now and just like the rest.

Yep there is a QLD RFC supporters group pre game function at the Shafston. It's the home.of the supporters group in Bris. $5 gets you in. It starts at 1pm. I can guarantee if I kick off at 1pm I won't be remembering much of the game.

I see a report in the HUN today with Mitch Robinson carping about Cameron getting held by Grimes and that it has been happening to him all year. What a load of *smile*; any of the footage that I saw was either negligible or Cameron was the one doing the holding.

I feel there has been an orchestrated campaign in the AFL industry and media since after the game last Sunday to highlight this supposed issue to ensure that Cameron gets an armchair ride from umpires, whether he deserves it or not, in the final next week. It is not RFC's style to play this out in the public domain but I really hope that privately they are not sitting on their hands with this. Hopefully behind closed doors they are dealing with this in the most emphatic manner possible. We have seen it before where umpires have been influenced by over the top media coverage on particular issues.

At the end of the day, the Lions would have to send in emphatic video evidence that this was regularly occurring. Because there is none, logic would say umpires will dismiss it.
What RFC should do, is query some decisions involving Lynch. There were some howlers that should be highlighted. At least 2 certain goals were cancelled out

Logic and umpiring don't necessarily go together.

Anyone heard what the ticket split ended up being at the Gabba?

Would like to think there would be at least 10,000 Tigers there.

I found it interesting that all the media networks have done all they can to notify the umpires that Grimesy was holding Cameron.
I wonder whether the clowns realise or care that Grimes received 3 free kicks and didn't concede any, and that Cameron had 2 free kicks against.
