I’m tipping Geelong and Brisbane to both go out in straight sets.

Image on the afl site on a Cameron positive piece ( no issue with that) funny who is holding who...

Hey in a show of faith in the Tigers, and to save myself some $$$ on flights, Im booking down to Melbourne (hopefully at the least see The VFL GF  ) before the QF?

given the frequency that Tiger and Jetstar have cancelled flights on me, im gun-shy and plan on arriving at least 24 hours before a potential prelim my question is this;

The prelims will definitely be Friday 20th and Sat 21st no? Even the AFL wouldn't spring a Thursday prelim would they?

Note; im not completely counting chickens, have other business to attend to in the great city

Yes, the ballot is only available to members of the preliminary finalists. We have to get there first.
it was last year,

In 2017 though we had to register on September 14th, which was before the Semi Finals held on 15th & 16th September, so 6 clubs members had to register

But then the internet melted when we tried to do that so they've shifted the dates a bit.

Just received an offer from Qantas for a $50 voucher to fly home Monday instead of Sunday. Wouldn't even pay for half a hotel room FFS

Yep there is a QLD RFC supporters group pre game function at the Shafston. It's the home.of the supporters group in Bris. $5 gets you in. It starts at 1pm. I can guarantee if I kick off at 1pm I won't be remembering much of the game.

You're soft. Beer o'clock for me will be on my 10am flight.

I'm thinking of going to the Shafston, but not until I fill up elsewhere first. I'm seeing many suggest the Story Bridge Hotel. Is it any good?

Has the club announced details for the Grand Final ticket ballot yet?

Doesn't that normally happen in the bye week?
Emails are out. Sept 12 or Sept 19 registration date, depending on this week's results

Last 2 years I was Group 2 and this year Group 3 which means basically no chance? I have over 10 years membership in a row. WTF???

They did it like that last year too. In 2017 they had Priority 1 - guaranteed, Priority 2 was Gold and Platinum and Priority 3 was Silver. That year no-one in Priority 3 got a ticket, but not all platinum members got a ticket. They wanted to prioritise platinum over gold so changed the categories. There will still be tickets available for gold members (Priority 3), its definitely not no chance from that group.

Unfortunately I'm in the no chance group as I'm only a 6 year member.

We were already in the 2017 preliminary final by then. I think members of the semi-finalist teams would have had to wait to see if they won the semi-final before they could register.

in 2017, platinum and gold were grouped together in priority 2 and silver in priority 3.

in 2018, platinum and gold were split. platinum was placed in priority 2, gold in 3, and silver out of the running altogether. looks like its the same in 2019.

I''m a 23 year member and still only priority 3!! WTF??

24 year member here. in 2017 I was MRC, so I got a ticket. but in 2018 I was in priority 3. as a result, I re-joined MRC this year. But to put a positive spin on it, I heard that out of all the Collingwood members that applied for tix last year, only about 100 missed out. Richmond may allocate tix differently, but you're not without a chance.
