Week 1 --- 2019 --- The Other Finals !

Natanui threw Merrett off towards the fence in the first instance before Merrett grabbed his hair (which should be tied up btw).
Agree Merrett should be fined for the hair incident but Natanui has to cop a week for piledriving him into the fence in retaliation.
Completely over the top reaction & extremely dangerous. Let's see if the AFL has the balls to do what's right & suspend him.

Another year without a finals win. Sheedy is still the only Essendon coach to win a final since 1968. fifty one years and still counting.

Ex Tiger made them great last time.
Understand why they’re trying it again by stealing anything Richmond again.

Hope so

I am really torn between wanting the salty cats to crash out in straight sets and witness a salty explosion about not getting a home final .....or .....seeing the pies float straight out with west coast coming from behind again with the last kick of the game.

I honestly can’t make up my mind.
Whenever in doubt always barrack against Collingwood.

Shiel is pissweak. So is Stringer. This Essendon team is just not built for finals footy.

Full of soft front runners.

said it several times.

Sheil was an extremely good player,

until Cotchy demolished him, body and mind, in the '17 prelim.

I dont reckon Merrett meant to grab his hair, he just sort of grabbed and got a handful and let go instantly.

anyway, if your hair is below the shoulders, its not too high is it?

My new 2nd most desired act in football, is to see Ivan swing NicNat a full 360 by the hair and thump him on the ground, like barney rubbles kid Bam-Bam would do, and the ump calls a kick to Ivan for NicNat raising his studs dangerously.

I dont reckon there's anything wrong with a good retaliatory shoving either.

nothing to see IMHO

The CEO sent a text to all AFL staff saying first one in the office Friday get a texta and cross out that p otential to cause injury clause from rule book.

It was definitely a far sight worse than what Ivan was rubbed out for the 1 week. I hope the AFL overlook it though, as it will weaken WC against either the Cats or Pies next week - Natanui was a real presence last night. His run down and monstering tackle of Saad was pure beast and a classic - who would have thought he had that speed with his size.

Like caged tiger said, we dont want NicNat rubbed out.

we want him kneeing Grundy or Blicavs in the throat for 120 minutes.

you can see clearly on the vision, that Merrett took a dive fenceward.

If you can’t beat them, then just copy them. Isn’t that they saying,
Essendon are the hair that falls off your nuts, totally irrelevant

Carlton are shittt.
Hawthorn are just plastic
Essendon are shhitt
All want now is Collingwood to straight sets it out of the finals.
And will have the quaddie for this year

A bit of feeling now. Nice goal from Saad.

Nicnat should get rubbed out for throwing a bloke into the fence.

That was up there with Barry Hall’s hit as two of the most violent acts on a football field in the last 10 years.
He literally catapulted Merret head first into the fence, missing a steel industrial bin ( not sure what that is doing on a boundary line ) by what looked like only a meter. Thought I was watching WWF.
The AFL must look at this for its potential to cause very serious damage. If he’s not rubbed out for that, then I’m not sure where we go from here.

Hopefully Hardwick(ex Ess) can delivery a 2nd premiership in return to RFC.
Then that would be 2 vs Sheedy 4.

Nat must get rubbed out. But no doubt won't!

Whether it's graded as suspension worthy or not. ... they'll play the shifty 'good bloke factor' card which invariably gets played at this time of year....
Part of me wants to whack the afl for the inconsistencies but when I think back that it was a toss of the coin as to if Cotch was rubbed out in 17....... my angst suddenly subsidies :)

Pulling someone's hair is a pretty p!ss poor act.. But the retaliation wasn't great either. Both will be fined, we know that's what will happen. Dons really aren't much chop. Were very lucky to get into the finals with 12 wins and a percentage of 95%. Their game plan is useless in finals.

I think their game plan is also pretty useless in the home and away season also, not just finals.

Reckon Port or Hawks would have put up a better fight last night.
