Yes poor King he was beset by a heavy tag from Didak from the first bounce and after 1.5 quarters of constant harrasment from a player of lesser talent had no option but to whack him in the guts when he wasn't looking to try and break the tag. Its just a disgrace that players of the calibre of King, a ball player from a long line of ball players attracts unwarranted and illegal attention in an attempt to limit the impact of his sublime skills which the paying public have come to see.TigerFurious said:I like the way you contradicted yourself in the first sentence. :

apparantly the pies showed DISCIPLIEN, not to lose the plot. i rather say they *smile* themselves and had to to resort to pulling hair or throwing cheapies and running away. Happy that for the first time in years the Tigers actually stood up and gave a player a chop out. The morons who dived on King while he was on the ground are the real gutless in this. Far too many times I have witnessed opposition players physically assault Richmond players while others stood and watched. Finally with guys like King, Hislop, McGuane and Jackson we have some players who won't take a backward step and will actually retaliate. The biggest disappointment is that Didak and O'Bree got back up. King and Hislop should have hit them harder.
We lost the match... King got suspended... Hislop got suspended... Big deal. One in all in I say. The 8 players who didn't get a fine should be the ones footing the bill.

Perfect summation. I was begining to think i was one of very few who actually saw it as it happened. When Didak elbows King in the shoulder and doesnt get reported, you have to wonder why the damn rule is there at all. Either an elbow is a reportable offence or its not.

Been reading through this thread, and the amouont of crap being thrown by you guys is absolutely ridiculous...but finally I get to this post, and a bit of common sense prevails. Fact is Tiger fans, your team has performed absolutely terribly from the first quarter in round 1, pretty much until the end.
Although the medial response to the melee on Saturday is a bit over the top, the best thing RFC can do is put their head down, FFS get the right coach, but more importantly the leaders of the club need to give him the freedom to do his job. Have a good pre season, then be ready to go round 1 2010.
Fact is you as Tiger fans are going to have to put up with some ridicule until the club starts to turn things around. No good winning a bloody fight, when you lose on the scoreboard by 100 pts!
We should see Maxwell's hissy fit for what it was, a calculated club response aimed at deflecting the Match Review Committee's attention away from Collingwood players. The ploy worked, Swan didn't get reported for pulling out deledios hair or punching King in the Melee, Didak didn't get reported for his earlier elbow to King and Cloke didn't get reported for biting McGuanne. All of these incidents clearly visable on video. Post match Eddie and Co would have been in the rooms concocting the spin to minimise the fallout. It worked.
I can top that, Collingscum to make the GF, lose by a point after the siren to St Kilda. This will give the Saints their 2nd ever Premiership and also they will like Collingwood have won 2 Premierships in the last 50 years.Cookie said:

Don't get me wrong I like King more than most on this site but he was the agressor here no doubt, just because Didak is a pratt doesn't mean we can change the facts.
I don't want to see Richmond players taking cheap shots like King and Hislop did on Friday. I want to see them act like Collingwood did to King after he hounded one of their play makers for a quarter and half culminating in the cheapshot. For example I would like to see the cowardly Adelaide player that threw Edwards head into the ground concussing him beset on by four Richmond players the next time he had the ball. What did we get, not even one remonstration.
