Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

If the AFL dissent rule was brought into the NBA, you would never get a completed game as too many players would be ejected

Protected area didn't exist tonight, for both teams. Players jogging through it all night like browns cows.
They said they couldn't allow Shai to play on advantage because it was a centre bounce? Is that a rule? They seemed to allow a WC player to do it later.
The McGovern 50 for backing away off the mark underlines how bad the rule is and against the spirit of the game, backing away from the mark is 50.

Still some bizarre moments. Obviously Willy Rioli can run as far as he likes without bouncing and no problem overruling your own holding the ball call to in the back…

The only way I can think of doing this would be to look at the game feed on the Footy Live app which might work. Labourious though.

I went to watch the Richmond Vs Gold Coast game at the pub, when that K. Hunt bloke kicked the goal after the siren.

There was a guy there with a couple of computers who was continually updating his spreadsheet/database during the course of the game. I was wondering what the hell is this guy doing?

He packed up very quickly after that final kick with a very smug/happy look on his face.

I'm not suggesting corruption, however, in game betting, regardless of the sport, allows for opportunity for those with the right tools & knowledge to have an opportunity to beat the bookmakers. Especially if there is a clear favourite at the start of a two horse race. Or a Test Match.

Haha that was ridiculous. Clearly shouts and signals holding the ball, then running up "sorry I meant in the back". :rotfl2

That ShaI won was weird - seen plenty of play on advantage out of the middle and I am sure the Dees got one last week.

It's just another illogical rule. If the free kick is paid by the non-officiating umpire then the player cannot take advantage. It mostly occurs during center bounces due to umpire positioning at that time.

See what happens when we play a game where the free kick differential is not 20 or more against us, the opposition don’t go on a run of 15 frees to 1 to finish the game and we don’t give away 8 technical 50 m penalties!

Imagine what the score would have been if WC only received 10 frees for the night and got frustrated!

Frees win games. Not every game but plenty of them. This is especially so in tight games. Would Adelaide have beaten us if the free kick count was roughly even?
