Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

They were shocking today, especially Leppard. Some decisions even left the radio commentators struggling for an explanation.

Don't generally like to complain about umpires but they were pretty bad today. 34 free kicks against is a lot.

do they get a bonus for every free paid? 63 frees for the game.......really?? and 34 against a hugely dominant team, again really? does that ever happen?

I was sitting next to some doggie supporters & for more than 3/4 of those decisions we looked at each other & shrugged. The game was so bloody stop start & talk about soft.

just some baffling decisions today,, Luke and Jack marks for using strength, NOT hands in the back... lets hope we get the run of the umps next week..

Horrible umpiring not from just bad calls in the spirit of the game others were just incorrect I'm aghast at that display

Looking forward to Gieshan saying that they were all correct decisions. ::)

Ruining the game with those free kicks. People love seeing those one on one contested marking situations, but its always either in the back, or chopping of the arms these days.

The AFL needs to decide what type of game they want, and if its this type of minimal contact, umpires get more of a reaction than the teams out there type of game, then I'm done.

Of course Gieschen will say they were all correct. That's all he ever does. I love the way they try to even them up a bit at the end. It happens almost without fail.

Dusty's goal that was disallowed was probably the worst free I have ever seen.

I want that explained by the umps. Bloody shocking decision.

That rule of a player coming within 5 metres of the player who has marked is a stinker too. When you're running ful pelt at someone and they've marked it what are you meant to do?

Vanish.

Absolute Rubbish.

Shane Tuck had two very very bad decisions against him in relation to the new sliding rule - even though he had possession of the ball and moved his body to protect him.

The reversal against Luke McGuane was a disgraceful - even if he did raise his arm to protect himself - the bulldogs player should not of been anywhere near him - should of been 50 our way.

And when they pulled Jack down in the last quater and didn't pay 50, even if the ump deemed that it was late but not deliberate force, Brett Goodes still had a hand on Jackie even after the other Bulldogs player (think it was cross) was up and on the mark.

And don't get me started on Jack and Luke using their bodies legally to mark or shepherd.

It was a disgrace today.

I hate bitching about the umpires but when we do it after a 10 goal win it doesn't sound as bad as when we do it after a loss.

Blind maggots.

OK. The only game I've seen recently that was marred by poor umpiring. It was IMO, 19 Chris Kamolins, who started the rot. 11 Leper only came into the game after the first quarter.

But we *smile* up bad. Umpiring is part of the conditions of the game. It's the job of our players to adjust to and exploit the conditions. After that blind *smile* Kamolins humiliated himself in the first quarter and that imbecile Leper trumped him with a historic display of interfering retard our players got narky and snipey.

We were taking cheap shots at the Footscray players and were bitching. Onfield leaders have to take control of this. Ours didn't. When the umpiring is too tight (and bad) we as the better team have to play cleaner and to the letter of the law. Immature game by our men today.

Otherwise an enjoyable massacre.

number 11 disgraceful. Absolute narcissistic.

Couldn't agree more. Had absolutely no feel for the game and continually ruined the flow. Since when has the winner in a test of strength been penalised? Happened plenty of times and we seemed on the wrong end of each call. Cost us at least four goals and gave them at least two. Why should they feel sorry for the bulldogs ? Don't recall getting too much over the last thirty odd years, we didn't want it and never expected (or got) it.
