Trent Cotchin (Merged)

Done and dusted. What a champion he’s been, but no longer.
9 disposals at 44.4% efficiency. Sad to see those numbers

Had a good run around his 300th (isn't psychology amazing) but back to his ordinary form. Had only 4 effective disposals today.

Stupid question: why hasn't he played anywhere near that game all season? Why couldn't he replicate close to that form if he demonstrated he is capable?
Age. Can get yourself up for a special effort or two but very difficult to maintain.

He’s mostly just jogging around.
It’s costing the team.
A bit self indulgent imo.
I don’t understand the view that Cotch and Jack get to decide.
The club is bigger than the individual.

i thought he should have been subbed off for coulthard and much earlier than it happened
We would not have missed Cotch at all, Coulthard may have given us something better and I think it was a mistake subbing off Miller
It is time to call it - I would much rather trying a young player getting 9 ineffective disposals than continue to play the premiership heroes who are no longer that

Someone has to say it, Cotch is not playing well enough to keep his spot from a younger player.

Dropped (rested) this week with an eye on the Roos game.
Big test for Mini on how he handles this.

If it wasnt Cotchin and another player was producing 9 disposals he would be playing in the early game at Punt Road.

I have no doubt Trent will do the right thing, no doubt.

This should be a celebration not funeral like!

I recall when it was out of Cotch and Lids, something always rubbed me with Lids, one hell of a player but i could see the ego and also heard some stories about how he behaved around the young draftees and the class system of sorts, so i was thrilled when Trent got the nod, albeit very young.

How little did i know how important that decision was... Its said often and sparingly, but Trent really should have a statue at Punt Road. Legend!

Both waiting until we're mathematically out of finals race. I can't wait to see more of the kids and get started with new coach.
Dont understand why theyre both waiting till we cant make finals when theyre not able to contribute to the team
Cotch and Jack must be "managed" for the game against the Dogs

Had to laugh when I saw Jack on 360 last week intimate that we haven’t been able to afford to rest he and Cotchin… for starters, we’re unbalanced playing Cotchin as a forward, when really we should have Cumberland, Maurice, Coulthard,or Bauer depending on whether we want to go a bit taller or not. Also, Jack has kicked 13 of his 27 goals in 3 games (so 14 in the other 15 games). On the weekend, Pickett took Steven May, so Jack didn’t even take the best key back! We have obviously still been in the finals hunt, but we should also have been looking more towards 2024 and getting some more games into kids. Absolutely no reason we couldn’t have rested Jack and Cotch once a month the last 5 months…
