Training For Redemption in 2022

Good to hear Dow training 100%, he has to be given a few games at least and an injury disruption would not be good at this point.

Graham obviously still being managed? Has provided limited impact in games due to his lack of pre season but was hoping he’d be ramping up by now.
Fridge did a massive amount of the old unrewarded two way running against Gee Whizz on the weekend. He's another who blocks gaps, fills holes n provides overlap support when he ain't got the pill. Crucial to the way we play the game.

Training today Wednesday:

The great news :
Grimes and Dow trained at 100%
Good news : Stack who screamed in agony after suffering an arm injury in the VFL on weekend was training fully albeit left elbow heavily strapped.
Encouraging signs: Riewoldt although having a light session and sitting out a couple of drills was marking the ball well so sure to test himself out fully on Friday.
Slight concern for our brightest star : Shai in rehab today noticeably doing some hip flexor movements in between some half pace run-throughs. **Note : Peter Burge has said they have been managing Shai's loads as he deals with a hip issue, hopefully that is all it is.
Also on light duties : Graham & KMac, in relation to Kamdyn he came into last weeks match after missing round 1 with some sort of leg soreness. He was not at his monstering running best on weekend, when was the last time Kamdyn had only 150 metres gained?. (Once again hopefully it is no more than load management?)
Same Old same Old : Prestia and Tigga in rehab and no footy drills.
Absent : Caddy & Lambert.

**Note : Midweek session always the lighter one so Friday will tell more.

That's it, cheers everyone.

We need him to be more than just a role player though. This was a guy touted as future captain material. An accumulator as well as a gap filler.
As I mentioned in my post, his lack of preseason dictates that he’ll need time to hit his straps but concerning that he still appears to be being managed at training.
Obviously still not 100%

Banks was noticeable today for a nice contested mark and some bullet passes. We need to remember he is only a couple of weeks into full training but a lot to like.
his early form is certainly generating a lot of interest.

I wonder who the collateral will be once Banks makes it to the 1st team.
Hope they can turn him into a midfielder.
We’ve got plenty of HBFs and Wingmen to cover for us.
Sonsie, Dow and RCD the only genuine next gen on ballers with promise unless Stack develops a tank.
Brown a defender and Judson Clarke looks like an Edwards like HFF at this early stage.

Got to fit that mid season pick up into the team as well....you know that little known guy called Martin

Whoever is giving a poor account of themselves i reckon. Banks could vault into the team, while someone previously considered safe could find themselves out of credit.

Apparently played on a wing in VFL which is a great sign for his endurance given his lack of pre season, tho he only played a half, it'd be great if he can fill that role as we don't have too many that seem to play that position

Main Training Today Friday:

Everything I hoped to see today I did, (despite Tigga,Prestia & Caddy not being there), but they are not in my immediate calculations.

Despite being very windy it was a pretty energetic and sharp session and plenty of voice to be heard.

More importantly Riewoldt trained fully and well.
My other main watches, ( either returning from injury, injury watch, or player management on Wednesday), Grimes, Dow, Shai, Graham & KMac), all trained strongly and appear good to go.

So over to you all would be selectors to pick your line-up.

**Added bonus and interesting : Lambert trained fully with the squad including the 15 minute match play component,

What do you think on Lambert Casear? Another month of increased loading and then possibly managed minutes at VFL level.

Lambo was looking ok whilst running around with the footy, watching him walking is another matter. Obviously they are just starting to see if he can handle any loads of actual footy so my thoughts are along the same line as yours, still a fair bit to play out and could be some ups and downs.
