Training For Redemption in 2022

Thought Jack Ross was our best young mid today. Don't understand the negativity. Sonsie plenty of good signs too.
Ralphsmith off HB wing was excellent. Want to see more.
Balta a tick up forward. Caddy too in his best position. He's competing with JR for a spot still.
Gibcus again touched up Jack.
Nank & Soldo look terrific.
Stack good early but faded & made a few errors.
Triple premiership midfielder Prestia was the outstanding performer of the morning in an exciting display for the Tigers fans who attended the session.

The 29-year-old has managed only nine games in each of the past two seasons due to injury, but looks sharp after a superb preseason campaign so far.

Yes I was there with a few others you know ezy.

Cotch has made a pretty good career of tumbling it forward.;) Just joking obviously but Inside mids have to win their own ball first & foremost. Ross does that. He looks fit & strong. Just won the Tony Mangan award before the game along with Broady for best preseason too.

Back2Back Mangans for Broady,

and a great effort by Jack Ross :clap2

Shorty turned it into a premiership JD,

so here's hoping Jack Ross can emulate that.

Be interested in The Royal Families live impressions of The Sonz.

He was in the camera shot ALL day long.

Cotchy gave him a 10 minute master class, which is probably worth 25 games I reckon?

So who rucked and played forward?

soldo V tank predominately with chopouts from Noah and a big preciously unseen bloke?

as expected, Soldo won hitouts and Nank around ground, although neither yielded by either measure

unusual forwards were bakes (4 goals BOG) and Noah (2 junk time goals - I said to Mr.B I think this will go the way of Vlastuins foray forward in '17) and Stack (who looked conspicuously slow - by reports was good in the 1st 1/3 so I suspect tweeked a groin or something that makes you look to slow and unaware to be true)

I think in terms of drifting forward for a goal, Nank and Soldo drew 1-1?

Gibcus gave Jack a bath, but I suspect Jack has his ego under a very tight rein, and is building the kids confidence.

but the kid looks an instant Jake Lever in every respect, except personality.

Im really pleased Jake Townsend is playing for Southport, and will never share a footy field with our Gibbo.

The only 2 players I didn't see in either rehab or match sim were Lambert and Brown.

Gibcus is a smoother mover than Lever. Athletic physique like Chol.

At one point I heard Jack yell 'Easy, Easy.,' and went less than full throttle into a contest that would have removed Dylan Grimes' kidneys. They were ostensibly opposition.

They weren't playing for all the marbles.

yep, I think it was stackman tackled someone (nank I think?),

like he was hugging his nana at christmas.

the reports of Jacks demise are greatly exaggerated

Had a very enjoyable catch-up on the Punt Rd Hill with the brains trust (and Redders).

Wasn't it Ryan in #46 for yellow relieving Soldo?

Agree on Gibcus/Jack. Wouldn't be surprised if Jack was coaching him too: "Okay, kid. You gotta expect me to lead here, so give me a body check...don't give me a run-up for this one..." etc. Saying that, Gibcus was very impressive. Seriously athletic kid. Will play R1 I reckon. (I said he's like Lever but taller, a better athlete, better kick and better bloke.)

Balta was good forward. That's Plan A from my read. Lead up at the man. It's not as complicated as these ex-mids like Mr B make out, it's just that you have an opponent.

We didn't notice The Sonz as much at the ground as you streamers did, but there were at least three moments that got the murmur of approval. One-touch, dual-sided, which we already knew. Clarke some nice things too. Both lace-out kicks.

RCD started brightly with some clearances and a good running banana goal in the first, as well as an excellent snap goal from a deliberate free. Ross was good but still thinks he has more time than he'll get in the bigs. Hugo was terrific off half-back, definitely the most improved. Will Martyn slipping to the back of the pack.

Bakes starred. Shai, Dion, Sheds, Cotchy all class in 3rd gear. Lynch running laps in rude health before the game, moving beautifully.

agree, but the way he plays (n=1),

is disconcertingly Lever-like IMO.

runs off opponent, stretches for intercept - reads the incoming ball and intercepts - finds space for the switch outlet.

pretty incredible for an 18 yo 195 I reckon.

when Jack kicked his one goal, Gibbo reacted with the total devastation I feel

when Mrs.EZ has discovered the hidden last stubby in the fridge,

way back near the light, with the 6 month old greek yogurt and forgotten half jar of pad Thai paste standing guard,

while ive been on the tractor all day and my throat is full of Setaria seed

That was VFL listed player John Jorgensen.

Loved what I saw today... I was in shock for a minute had to double take on Soldo, thought Maric made a comeback. Loved the Nank v Soldo ruck battle.

I'm still in awe of the Pickett side step.

Ralphsmith, good to see on the wing, love his run.

Seeing Caddy with some form early, hope he gets a look in this season.

Gibcus good young back, form will be up and down, but good battle with Jack.

Bakes throwing himself around was a concern - we haven't started the season don't risk it!

Prestia was here was there was everywhere!

Can't wait for next week now.

Entertaining game, noticeable tweak to the game plan. Most of the game players were looking to hit up the player with short controlled passes, instead of just blazing away. All the other Richmond traits on show pressure and the forward handball game.

One player I like the look of will play for our VFL team. Nice skills, a lefty, good vision and decision making.

Massimo D’ambrosio

5/6/2003, 177cm, 75kg, defender/midfielder

Talented youngster from the Western Jets. D’ambrosio played solid football at NAB League level last year and was rewarded with a Vic trial game for his efforts.

D’ambrosio is smart, an excellent ball user by foot and has the flexibility to play multiple positions. The 18-year-old will train with Richmond while playing as a 19-year-old for the Jets again in 2022.
He will end up at Footscary exactly the same way we lost Dunkley.
Fken hide them ffs.

Some of you blokes need to lift your game ! Bagging Towner , seriously he is a premiership legend and did stuff in 17 that you blokes can only dream about ! Our players would be ashamed if they read half this stuff!! Be Better!!!

believe it or not, I chaired a real life jury once, and somehow managed to lock a fellow juror (who entirely coincidentally, didn't agree with anything I said) in the dunny and almost triggered a mistrial.

the take home message? dont let me off the backbench of a jury, real or imagined

11 Angry Men (and 1 flatulent man).

Jury out on RCD and Stack. But the others listed would have to really jump a level to be in our stronger / strongest side.
We might’ve seen the best from Stack.
He did absolutly sweet FA today.
That miss snap was amateur hour
