Training For Redemption in 2022

Neither Banks nor Brown played.

Staggered we kept Parker on the list.
Keeping Parker was a bit generous. A bit of a shame we couldn't move caddy on. I just saw the last quarter. Caddy CAN play. Just no spot last year. See what happens this year.
Biggie did a couple of good things. Ditto gibcus. RCD: centre clearances late in the game. Maybe his tank is better.

From what I hear he is reserved and hard to get a conversation out of, not rude, just quiet.

When there is limited footy footage and games played in a draft, interviews output is IMO judged to be more important. Wrongly.

And last year was a limited season, makes sense that the Sonz dropped under these circumstances. If he played a full year, he's top 10. Easy.
It may go down as the most ridiculous drop down the draft order in history - he was rated top 3 coming into 2021 - had a couple of quiet games in a season of unprecedented disruption...and slips down the order because he is erm...quiet / doesn't have a big personality. To me it made no sense coming into the draft, made no sense on draft night and still makes no sense now - but I'm glad we are the beneficiaries of this groupthink!

Tend to agree. .... if you can't kick straight from 20 metres out, directly in front in an intra match, then when can you?
Nothing against the bloke, but I've always thought if he's best 22 R1.... we're seriously struggling for depth!

I think the tantalising thing about Parker, is that if he could kick - he'd be a really solid role player.

Jury out on RCD and Stack. But the others listed would have to really jump a level to be in our stronger / strongest side.

If I may assume the chairman's seat on the jury for a moment,

'We have reached a decision on RCD'

*Let me know if we want to save another $250k, and I'll chair a jack Ross jury too.

He probably is our 3rd best u22 inside mid behind Ross and The Sonz,

But I suggest The Sonz is orders of magnitude ahead of 2nd and 3rd as a long term prospect,

as of now.

I urge caution in not considering opponents.

this Alpha LoveFluid kid seemed to play largely on MRJ (when Hugo wasn't dashing off him),

which I suspect is not currently a difficult assignment.

It pains me to say, Ive moved MRJ onto the least desirable of the 3 whiteboards in my study.

This sounds like one of those juries in a made for television legal drama.

Glorified training run and towards the end of the game it was circle work.

When the game was at its hottest, Cotch, Prestia and Baker were the best.

As much as RCD, Caddy showed, does anyone really think they'll get picked once Dusty, Lynch, Graham and Lambert return? I don't.

Grain of salt for today. But it's a very good sign for depth as injuries will inevitably hit.

agree.

although im not letting the salt shaker within a train stop of Gibbo or The Sonz's performances

believe it or not, I chaired a real life jury once, and somehow managed to lock a fellow juror (who entirely coincidentally, didn't agree with anything I said) in the dunny and almost triggered a mistrial.

the take home message? dont let me off the backbench of a jury, real or imagined

I thought Mr Burnside looked decidedly under done. Clearly been on the popcorn chicken over the Summer.

Mykelti Lefau

18/1/1998, 195cm, 96kg, utility

New Zealand born with a rugby background, Lefau spent time on Casey’s VFL list before returning to local football once the pandemic hit. An impressive athlete that can play all over the ground and has reignited hunger to push himself at the higher level.
What’s not to like about this bloke

Clearly good enough for the AFL

Very early days

But ……

Sonsie and gibcus look like blue ribbon A grade prospects .

Thought Jack Ross was our best young mid today. Don't understand the negativity. Sonsie plenty of good signs too.
Ralphsmith off HB wing was excellent. Want to see more.
Balta a tick up forward. Caddy too in his best position. He's competing with JR for a spot still.
Gibcus again touched up Jack.
Nank & Soldo look terrific.
Stack good early but faded & made a few errors.

were you there Oldy?

always happy to add weight to live viewings,

but the commentator on the computer said

'Ross tumbles it forward'

several times.

some blokes tumbles end up with their teammates.

Jack Ross's rarely seem to.

Caddy too in his best position. He's competing with JR for a spot still.

Thats a match race with only one possible outcome

Yes I was there with a few others you know ezy.

Cotch has made a pretty good career of tumbling it forward.;) Just joking obviously but Inside mids have to win their own ball first & foremost. Ross does that. He looks fit & strong. Just won the Tony Mangan award before the game along with Broady for best preseason too.

Heard he has an adductor issue.

That could be very bad news unfortunately, I hate adductor issues.
Martin suffered a “niggle” in his hip/adductor on Thursday which the Tigers didn’t want to risk, but assistant coach Andrew McQualter said he would likely take on the Cats next week.

The 30-year-old, who hasn’t played suffering a lacerated kidney in a collision with Brisbane’s Mitch Robinson in Round 18 last year, did a solid early morning running session with Lynch.

Lynch was sharp in the running session and is ready to resume from his hamstring issue.

“Dustin was pretty close to playing, (it) was a slight hip issue and we expect him to be fine next week,” McQualter said.

“Lynchy … was pretty much at 100 per cent running. He probably could have played today. But it was not worth running the risk for an intra-club at this time of the year with those guys.
