The AFL want to keep the game in the Media. Hence the whole beat up around it.
Its a poor imitation of the EPL and NFL processes where the governing body and indeed the players have a far more mature and commercial appreciation of the inputs which have to come together for a player trade process.
I really dislike the AFL trade period.

If the reports are true dogs will get treloar for 5 years at 600 a year (pies pay 300 a year)
Then dogs have done exceptionally well.
They get a very good player on good player money and pies play a man down in a cap sense for 5 years. 5 years!

I cant see Pies being competitive for 20 years with the grundy/cox/degoey/treloar debacle.
I reckon grundy is spent; the most promising of their youth punted himself to north; and their remaining father-son youth is way overrated.

Harry, its impossible for Collingwood to sign Degoey if Treloar & Stephenson stay unless it’s over the top heavily back ended, how do you think that would go down??....lol
Massive internal issues at the Pies...
I’m very hesitant to post this but what the heck, Got told last night that the Tigers and Bulldogs are up to something creative. Not specifically a deal between clubs but they are both being very quiet & coy, something might surprise tonight as minor or major it could be.
What an absolute debacle at the pies. They look like paying 400-500k per year for players not on the list. If the Stephenson deal happens, him becoming a star at another club while they are still paying him would be nice.
