Thoroughbred racing

Lord Von Costa just gave them too much start. Another 50m definitely in the placings, will pass my apologies to the homeless when I see them.

My Pendant at Ballarat today - drawn nicely (1) should get the run of the race - may have been a little flattered by her first up second as didn't think she had that in her at the 1200m. Best suited up over a bit more but trainer thinks 1200 will still be ok today this early in her first preparation. I would suggest each way (as per usual).

Had a good day at Flemington Saturday with Shillelagh and Prince of Arran helping fund a number of average bets - including DK Weir's Verry Elleegant. Just like Extra Brut which I jumped off after a poor run at Caulfield, reckon they are also playing games with this one and the only target is the Oaks - now will get a price. But can I back a DK Weir winner ? - well I haven't for a long time!!! but will mozz him by backing Fifty Stars tomorrow and Verry Elleegant Thursday.

Ended the day with a sneaky bet in Perth on Dainty Tess which duly saluted and got my nose in front for the day.

Have already espoused my Cup pick, Muntahaa but will also have a few $ on Marmelo each way. Will also be backing Mamzelle Tess. For a roughie each way at big odds will back Dunatun, Randwick Race 7 No 8 curently $41.

Good punting all

DK Weir has thrown a spanner in the works for the Oaks by accepting with Amphitirite - which I will now be backing so best tip of the year - get on Verry Elleegant!

Think ill try jump 'em early on 'Tess also .44

Haven't been so single minded about a horse like I am about Best Solution in The Cup for years. Probably not since Kiwi maybe? :eek:ld

Avilius for me this year. Had the picket fence going before satisfactory Cup workout in the Cox Plate. Awkward barrier a slight concern which may see him elect to settle rearwards.

Got a few live doubles into Yucatan. Might leave it at that and a tickle on Chestnut Coat, who might finish third or third last.

Fifty Stars should be even money. Should be a big day for Weir and Cummings.

Good luck all.

Have had all in win fixed bets on Youngstar, Avilius and Rostropovich.

Had 2&3 All up win and place bets on Fifty Stars, Mirette and Take It Intern, and have backed Take It Intern on the nose.

Good luck everyone.

Good one. Still betting with the Nankervis money?

3.20 on the tote for Fifty Stars. Bonkers. (I got on at 2.50, fixed. Doh!)

Legend of Condor a big chance with the track conditions.

I think its probably best to throw a dart at the field to pick the winner of the cup on a heavy track

(there is a tsunami of darts hitting Magic Circle right now)

still, I'm glad Best Solution, who I am all-in on, is tough and has wet form lugging weight.

Like Brave Song coming down the outside of the straight R9 with JMac aboard

I got $2.90. Was feeling chuffed when i then saw $2.45 and then astonishingly finished at $3.40ish. Should have checked back here earlier - LoC won as well!

Have conflicting feelings about a billionaire pouring millions into chasing trophies getting the cup. Especially one that rules a place with despicable human rights records.

I suppose it makes the likes of Prince of penzance wins more remarkable.

I hear you jazz.

Old Sheiky is the king, prime minister and president, so I guess he's covered all power bases over there in Arabia?

No doubt grandad ran a scimitar across a few oil barrens throats and the family look after their wells for the widows also?

I don't have a problem with rich blokes having a horse or a hundred, what sh!ts me is all the suck-holing that goes on

with calling him right royal and his highness etc. Its Australia, call him Mo FFS.

I'd like to back the Dalai Lama's horse, but I think it's a reincarnation of Willi Sawall?

Given what he and ol' mate Moh Bone Saw are doing to Yemen, he should be called "the defendant" in the Hague.

Fabric going around in race 3 at Kyneton today. Fairly good field for a maiden but she is fit and well and should be thereabouts at the business end. Stays at 1200m for this run and would have liked to get out to 1400m+ but given likely pace she should sit back off them and hopefully sprint quick enough. Each way - currently $6.50.

Had a good day Cup Day and managed to back a winner trained by DKW!!!!! Fifty Stars - was smart and took $2.60 early and couldn't believe they bet $3.40. Still happy to back a winner, managed to find a few others to record a profit at the end of the day.

Just a little too far for Tess in the conditions Easy, 1700m was probably 200 too far. Fourth of course, so our each way missed out.

On to Oaks Day and have had a crack at DKW's Amphitrite in the Oaks (which makes Verry Elleegant a special). Assuming the track is not too rain affected have had an each way bet on Black and Tan in Race 2 ($41/$11) and Malibu Style in Race 6 ($26/$7).

Good punitng all

Good luck with Fabric, i've taken a quinella with the one Lane is on, it's his only ride for the day.

Have got Aristia at $34 and Dark Confindant at $41 in the Oaks. I'm a huge fan of Amphitrite so will take some exotics.
