Thoroughbred racing

Good idea is for Dazza to give it up. He sounded worse than Meatloaf (admittedly, even well before today) and that song has become a terrible ear-sore now.

I heard him sing it a few months ago and he was awful, he keeps going for those high pitched notes that just sound excruciating.

Hey Doc is building a nice career.

Not much of a Valley punter myself - horrible track, so will just watch today.

The Valley is my favourite track. Its the simplest punting place I reckon.

I largely rely on the track strike rate.

Hey Doc and Blondie were two 15-1? winners in my black book, who I missed cause im in the spell paddock :p

thats punting.

I will keep that in mind, ease.

Love this story, the teaser pony has a Melbourne Cup while the stallion does not.

So Fellas, I need some advise

I'm a confidence punter.

and im in the grip of a crisis of confidence.

Further, one of my non-negotiable punting rules, is banish losses from your mind. Quickly rule a line under them. Punt off scratch.

I feel like if my confidence was there, I would give Foxplay another chance in the mile down the big straight.

Indeed, I'd up the stakes.

Avdulla's words echo in my ears 'if you ignore Winx, she's the best mare in the land'

It's what i thought before he said that, and its what I have based my entire spring on.

a basket full of eggs? no doubt.

my questions is this

"am I chasing losses?'

or will Foxplay prove tomorrow that she is the 2nd best mare at a mile (at Spring Victory odds)?

I'd like your opinions.

My favourite day of racing for the year - a great day's racing, weather not too kind but track should be ok.

My best on a tough day - Sully in the Derby (hopefully Bowman can ride a decent race unlike most of the carnival so far - I think he has been poor) Heavens Above in the Myer 1600m Mares Group 1 (race 6) and a couple of first up specialists, Lake Como (race 3) and Man From Uncle (race 9). All each way and hopefully we can build a bank for Oaks Day!

good luck 44. What do you think the track will be rated by 15.00 tomoz?

I agree on Bowman.

I wont bet in the Derby, but I hope Dusty can become the first player in history to win the Brownlow/Premiership/NS AND The Derby in the one season.

Lol re Dusty and the Derby - that would be a unique season!

Re the track will be Good 4, few showers around but not enough to impact the track. 16 degrees forecast with a possible shower so should pretty much stay a Good 4. If it does get rain affected Egg Tart comes right into calculations in race 8.

Have been on Foxplay but have jumped off after what I thought was an average effort and recall reading somewhere she is not that big and struggles when up in the weights - has 57kgs to lump so won't be easy (pardon the pun) but in her favour she will be better suited to Flemington and you will get attractive odds. Barrier 12 won't help either.

Good luck!

I’m torn on this one too Eazy E. Really want to back it but since the quin with Winx early Spring has burnt me (like you) on the last 3. Another fav of mine Dixie Blossoms in their too with the Glamour, Shoals and Sedition. Can’t pick em all - as much as I’d like to.

Anyway, I’ll be trackside hoping for some divine insperation. Somehow fluked Prize Icon last year. Here’s hoping for the same again.

Thought they only ever teased. Amusing... unless it actually wins the Cup.

I think she's lengths better on a slow track easy, so i'm going to give her a miss today. I like the young filly Shoals in the same race, she's carrying 50 kg's and was not disgraced last start when beaten by the next Jameka.
