Thoroughbred racing

Danger day today. Big chance for the bookies to win back some of their money.

R3 - Francis of Assisi, Vengeur Masque
R6 - Happy Hannah, Sort After
R8 - Malachi

R2 Nisos e/w
Emirates - roving bankers Hauraki and Happy Clappers in F4 with 3,5,8,12,13
Darley - Sheidel e/w

Scottish out left me without a horse in the last G1 of my punting year. So I took another look at the form.

Hauraki.

As mentioned - thought Oceanographer was bet of program last Sat.

Leysy has the moral of the carnival tomorrow.

The Quarterback in the Darley - Currently $7 if shop around.

A million reasons why it will win. GET ON.
Oh Losing Days....

wow, you bloody beauty PRE racing thread! for years when I haven't been following form, sometimes do sometimes not, I'll check this thread and take a few tips on a sat. while I'm doing other things

anyway this week, jotted down some tips, went to the tote and thought I'll back the longest price ones.

Anyway, for race 6 jotted down Denmagic from 44, and Sort After and Happy Hanna from spook, got to the tote, couldn't decide which one to back, in a hurry, thought I'll box 'em, then thought I'll stick in 1 more for luck, lucky 7 JESSE BELLE!

Got the trifecta $5, 20%, $330 smackas! actually got the FIRST 4, didn't back it but got it. (paid $12K up here :p) Thank you 44, and thank you mostly spook, ripper. owe youse a beer.

OK another great days racing.

Race 3 - Francis of Assisi
Race 7 - Vadamos
Race 8 - The Quarterback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Race 9 - Demonstrate - short but wins.

GL ALL!!

QB got caught on wrong side but still should have finished closer, but St Francis walked in at $5.50 to put leysy's nose in front for the day to cap a very good spring.

Think most on the thread have done well including Spook and ET early with Snake coming home with a bang.

Good punting all.

St Francis killed 'em, nice one leysy. I think et might have backed awesome Rock, my other bro did I know that.

Totally after timing, but had a nice saver as well on The Rock. Have thrown it out on here a bit.

Well played on that tri again!

yeah good spring fellas.

nice work snake, bringing it home.

I got a well-deserved arse kicking on The Cup, but a final balance of the punting safe reveals a bit over a grand and a bottle of 14 yo Cuban Rum in the black for spring.

which im happy with. I had a fun spring and learnt a lesson for about the 35th time; Avoid the melbourne cup. or have a $1 mystery trifecta.

see you blokes on the draft thread and back here in the Autumn. :fing32

Good work punters. Was kicking myself re Awesome Rock, is part owned by a couple I know but hadn't seen for a while. I gave up on it after its Caulfield effort when should have done more. That's racing!

Another small loss yesterday. Covered most of my losses (each day of Flemington) on Friday night so all is good.

Sandown next week - the battle continues.

Ps Mrs T44 was very happy yesterday, got to have a chat and picture with Jack in the members. She had had a few champers so poor Jack probably copped it but apparently was very pleasant and happy to chat

Awesome Rock and Hauraki continue the impressive record of horses 5yo+, unplaced in Cox place, $8+ in the Emirates over the last decade. I went with the wrong one.

Mossbeat in the last at Sandown on Saturday, Summoned Stakes - she ran third in it last year. In my opinion not as strong as last years field and she has drawn nicely in 7, will probably settle just off midfield. Even though she is now in winning form (lol) can't see her winning this but I think she is really good value for a place - currently $6 on Sportsbet for a place. Her chances even more enhanced should there be any of the forecast rain on Friday evening through Saturday.

Dangers - Silent Sedition, Shillelagh and the Sydney mare trained by the Snowdens, Extensible.

Go Tigers

Not good enough on the day. Was in a good spot but the gaps she needed to take in the straight were going much faster than her!

Hopefully back to lower grade races.

Apologies to any of you who bet on her.

James McDonald has stood himself down after being questioned about a bet on Astern who he rode to win the race.
If guilty he will never ride for Godolphin again. I wonder if Godolphin will give the gig back to McEvoy.

wow. although quite happy for jockeys to back their own mounts, especially when I back em too 8-

A classic example of *smile* value robbery by bookies betting futures.

They're offering $6 for Winx to go undefeated in 2017.

now she probably will, and heaps of blokes will just see 'Winx' and '$6' and get excited. But say she has 7-8 starts, they're offering about $1.25 on each start.

That is Crapola any way you look at it. Except I suppose, if you look at it in hindsight and you had a coupla grand on it, and she went undefeated. :don't know

Beware punters, almost all futures bets are *smile* value. Its worse than fixing your interest rates
