Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I was at the Valley on Friday night. A friend of mine is one of Hay List's owners. It was awesome. Such effortless power. Fast cruising speed, then bang goes the turbo. Blew away some very good horses, including Leysy's mate Eagle Falls, which will be better for the run. But Hay List is in another league. Agree with Leysy, it will win everything it runs in. Talk it can go up to the mile but why not just slay everything in the sprints. They're aiming for Royal Ascot.

PRE Punters Club

No Collects three weeks in a row

This is becoming a habit – we have to find somebody to break this drought – on paper the selections look up to their ears in their respective races – but on the track they are not running up to form.

This Saturday 2 October 2010 the champion and challenger are -

Champion = Tannerztigers
Challenger = Tigergollywog

Tannerztigers & Tigergollywog – could you please post or PM me to show that you are ok to be the punters this weekend?

PLEASE NOTE: the Flemington Races have been moved to Sunday so as to not conflict with the AFL Grand Final Replay - Tannerztigers & Tigergollywog - you have a choice between Sydney or Brisbane or Adelaide on the Saturday or Fleminton on the Sunday.

The rules are simple -

1) Each punting day (usually Saturday) there is a challenger and a champion
2) Both the challenger and the champion have $10 to bet - either win or place or eachway and/or allup.

E.G. Either –
$10 win horse A, or
$10 place horse A, or
$5 win horse A and $5 win horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 place horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 eachway horse A, or
For those who wish to dare it is OK to have
$5 win horse A allup a win horse B, and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B

3) If you collect more than the $10 outlay and more than your opponent on the day you become the champion next week.

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on the thoroughbred thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2010.

The list order of punters is

1. Bernie
2. Azzamoot - return $67.40 Club House Leader
3. B1
4. Tony Braxton-Hicks
5. Hartbalme
6. Blood_17 – Return $12.50
7. RedSeaTiger – return $46.50

$2.20 - Altius is a one paced horse - just kept plugging away even though Oliver was hard at him.........

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck nige and flemmo. Time to put an end to our run of outs.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I have had no contact from Bignige or Bringbakflemmo. They have not been on PRE since Thursday and Wednesday this week respectively.

It is my fault in not communicating to them earlier in the week that it was their turn in the chair.

In the event they don't see PRE before noon today - I will select two horses each way and with an allup - which will be "fill in bets" and allow them to have their goes next week. My road trip this week has caused this to happen.

Apologies all round.........RT

Tiger 44 - got your PM - only too happy to let you have your turn after either Bignige or Bringbakflemmo miss.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Sorry boys for the lethargy, and non response.

Between my anniversary on the 7th and forgetting my wireless dongle I haven't had the brain space or the ability to get on.

I P.M.ed remote my picks just before but to let everybody know they are:
Both Caufield

$5 win race 7 number 3 Masquerader

and

$5 win race 8 number 2 Solar Charged

Hope BBF got on and goodpunting

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Great days racing!

So You Think is currently at $1.45 fixed, too short I reckon. Gun horse but at those odds I reckon Whobegotcha will give it a run at $3.40. Will be an interesting race.

PRE Punters Club

The drought has broken & we have a new club house leader

Bignige stepped up to the plate and smashed it out of the ballpark to take the lead in the PRE Punter Of the Year 2010.

Bignige picked up on the form reversal of Solar Charge and got $35.20 return for his $5 plus we got the place all up for $5 which gave us a further $46.30 return.

A total win of $71.50 (Rosy amount remitted to PRE Admin Account today......)

Bringbakflemmo pm’d me to advise he had been away and didn’t receive the call up – so I like to invite him again to challenge Bignige.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Fabulist is scheduled to go around in the last at Caulfield Saturday. Has drawn wide in 15, doesn't like wet tracks so high likelihood she will be scratched. A pity as she is going really well and would be a great each way chance in this. Fingers crossed that the weather holds up and the track is no worse than dead/slow.

Good luck to all punters.
