The RIP thread

Indeed he was. Made some funny movies over the years.

Sadly the younger generation only know him as a MEME ( the one where he's Wonka leaning on his forearm saying something like 'tell me about....")

Yep like most here, loved Wilder's Willy Wonka as a kid.
Also a big fan of his work with Pryor in Stir Crazy & See No Evil Hear no Evil.
A very understated funny man.

RIP Gene Wilder. I didn't know he had Alzheimer's nor cancer. He looked OK last year in an interview I saw but some recent photos show him as really frail.

Always loved his antics in many movies, especially (with Richard Pryor) in Silver Streak & Stir Crazy.

with Richard Pryor, one of the best comedy duos.

RIP

Sadly, they never got along too well.

Prior incorporated something that he said was driven by Wilder into his act. When they did Stir Crazy Wilder insisted that they go and visit with some lifers in an American prison. Prior didn't want to go, but Wilder got him to go along with it. Prior said Wilder was quite good with it, he got as far as talking to one person who had triple life for multiple murders and stopped at that point. Made sense that Wilder attended Lee Strasberg's acting school. Apparently he supplemented his income then by teaching fencing.

Not many people can't start an advert with "Ah, g'day". Well done Nev.

Read a good comment on another website regarding old Arnold...

"My dad always put it best when he commented on Arnold playing golf with a new US president, "'That's a big deal for the President'"

Shock news.

Fox reported Max Walker has passed away.

Condolences to the Walker family.

Could have made it as a footballer but chose cricket.

Fond memories
