The RIP thread

You're kidding! Spooky !!!
Last weekend I came across something about Mr Ed and asked my teenage sons if they had ever heard of it.
Then I found some episodes of it on YouTube and sent links to my boys to have a look.
Out of curiosity I looked at Alan Young's wikipedia page and noted how old he was and I thought to myself "we'll have an RIP about him soon".
That was yesterday!
I better stop doing that.

Also known as Rod Taylor's friend in the original "The Time Machine" and had a cameo in the remake.

R.I.P.

RIP Wilbur. I haven't seen Mr Ed for over 20 years ago and back then I would've thought Alan Young had passed away. He's one of those reclusive (?) type of actors who you don't hear about again for ages and think they must have died. Another shock I noticed was a few weeks ago with Australian actress Mary Ward Breheny who played 'Mum' in Prisoner. She left the show in the early seasons and was never heard of again. Now we find out in the newspapers that she just turned 101 years old!

Do me a favour and don't look up my Wikipedia page

Also just read that William Schallert died recently.
The name will mean little to most but I'm sure his face will be familiar.
He was the father of Patty Duke (who also died recently) on The Patty Duke Show.
But he was hysterical as The Chief's predecessor Admiral Hargrade on Get Smart.

I thought he was 100 years old back in the 60s. Didn't even know this 40 year old bloke played the part. ;D

Was only looking up the evil satanic Mr Ed on wiki last month and was shocked to see see Alan was still alive.

Did well for reaching such a ripe old age, Connie Hines (Carol his wife on the show who died a few years back) was one hot honey.

Could never understand why Wilbur spent so much time in the barn with Ed when she was in the house hot-to-trot!

Went to a trivia night a couple of months ago and one of the questions was " for what was the horse Bamboo Harvester famous? "

We all answered in horse racing terms as a guess listing various famous races etc but the answer is that he was Mr Ed :D

RIP to the "Greatest of all time". I would have loved to see him live at his peak.

I'm truly shattered, loved him so much.

Goodbye Mr Ali, the world will never forgot you.

*smile*.... just heard it now. RIP Cassius. Still showed strength in living a long enough life with that bloody Parkinson's disease.

Arguably the greatest athlete of all time. Electrifying. Amazing memories from the golden age of boxing.

Rest Mohammad.
