The "Richmond Specialists" - present and past

Archer came out after retirment and admitted they use to try and tunnel Richo.
bit of a low act imo

You don't say. When I look back that makes perfect sense. Tunneling is hard to prove - I just wish someone would make a report on an incident. To large extent it's what's been going on with Jack this past season too.

Archer intimidated and thus beat Richo a couple of times early on. Then had his arse handed to him regularly. Couldn't run nor jump with the big fella.

Agree. They stopped playing ARcher on Richo.

After a while Richo worked out that he was bigger, stronger and faster than Archer and from then on beat him pretty handily and then North stopped playing him on the big man.

Colin Sylvia, following his blinder against us on Sunday, has cemented himself as a true "Richmond Specialist" - a player who always seems to fire up when playing us.

All sides have certain players who routinely enjoy a day out against them. Back in the 1990s I remember Nathan Bower, a fringe player in and out of the seniors, tear the mighty West Coast apart (and giving champ Peter Matera nightmares!) on several occasions.

So, who are some of the "Richmond Specialists" - present and past - who always seem(ed) to fire up against us Tiges?

They may be the champs of the game, such as an Adam Goodes or a James Hird. But a true "Richmond Specialist" will be one of those players who is generally just ok, often a fringe player, who tends to play their best match of the year against the Tiges.

I'll start with the obvious:

Present: Colin Sylvia (Melb)

Past: Scott Welsh (Adelaide, Western Bulldogs)

Look forward to your thoughts, PREnders!

gary ablett senior was the lord of specialists :'(
