The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

No real reason but I think it will be Hinkley. Maybe something to do with his style and our emphasis in recruiting pretty speedy types.
When you look at it Cousins, Deledio, Edwards, Gourdis, King, Nahas, Oakley-Nicholls, Tambling, Vickery, White and the great one are all blessed with toe.

Hardwicks reutation has been as a hard tough coach. And we definitely need that, but maybe it will be someone who is thought best able to exploit our speed?

Who does Gerald Healy think he is? Always got his phone on during the show just so when we know when he gets messages so he gives off the impression he's important.

That was apparently a joke sms, they later said press conference at 10.30.

Yeah thanks Ian. I stand corrected 9 news said 10.30 also.

They said nothing other than that so its obviously a bloody tight ship their running down at Tigerland on this one.

I keep pinching myself just to make sure that its the RFC we're actually talking about here, but its been a massive job to keep it under wraps so long.

if thats true then I reckon thats taking the whole "tight ship" thing a little too far ..

If they do not know until 1 hour before the press conf. it aint them!

RICHMOND will announce its new senior coach at 10.30am on Wednesday morning.

The job is expected to go to either Geelong assistant coach Ken Hinkley or Hawks assistant Damien Hardwick, although current caretaker coach Jade Rawlings and Essendon assistant Alan Richardson also made it through to the final round of interviews.

The decision was made by the board on Sunday, but the announcement was held over until all parties involved had been informed and club president Gary March returned from New Zealand.

The Tigers have followed a strict process in the appointment of the new coach since former coach Terry Wallace was sacked at the beginning of June.

Some bloke just came on & said that Hardwick has told the Hawks he won't be with them on the weekend.

Why not? Hinkley was going to continue until the end of the finals.

Wow this thread hotting up.

Have relations between Hardwick and Clarkson fallen that far that they wouldn't even have him finish out the season or he doesn't want to finish out the season.

Maybe he's just that keen to get started with the Tigers.

Thats a safe prediction.

If Hardwick gets the nod he'll be at Punt Road otherwise if he misses yet again he'll be at Y&J's drowning his sorrows :hihi
