The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

If true about March going away, what's more important than the final presentation to the board by the last 2 candidates that March is galavanting around overseas, delaying the process? Not good enough unless there's a really good excuse.

Meanwhile, Port have offered Hardwick a 'senior' assistant role to become the coach in a couple years and want an answer ASAP.

This is brillant - the club deserves credit for the FREE PRESS we have been getting.

I'll be glad to see the end of it. After such a drawn out process I just hope we get it right. I don't fancy the press we'll get if our new coach fails.

Scooty, have you ever considered collating your posts into a book and releasing it for the Christmas presents rush? You have a bestseller on your hands.

If March wants Jade, he can have my reserve seat, 'cos I wont be going to watch this sh!t from an incompetant novice.

Where were you listening to Gary say that? I heard him questioned on 774 whether Jade would remain around the club and he responded that he might get the job yet. I thought myself it was a bit of a leading question and he played it well.

How do you know Benny Isn't a fan?

I'd be incredibly surprised if Jade got the job myself but that opinion isn't formed by what people from the club have said either way.

Hinkley has been an assistant in a premiership team, has coached his own team, seems to know how to motivate, has been a big part in Geelongs success and was chosen by Blight to assist him at St.Kilda BUT he hasn't been involved in a rebuild at AFL level.

Hardwick has been involved in premierships both as a player and assistant, has been involved in a rebuild BUT hasn't coached his own team and has been over looked by a number of clubs.

My concern over Hinkley is his lack of involvement in a rebuild, as Geelong have never been rock bottom and have had the cattle. Does he know whats involved? Does he realise that a rebuild is required or does he think that he can motivate the current group up the ladder? If it's the latter then its a massive concern. Does he fully understand the hard work thats involved in a full rebuild, coz thats whats required.

Hardwick has seen first hand whats required with a rebuild, and if done properly how you can quickly climb the ladder. He's played & assisted under some good coaches and seen premierships everywhere he's been. However their must be a flaw somewhere as he's been knocked back a few times after presenting himself and his ideas on coaching.

flip the coin.

True Harry, though while I know it is not anywhere near the same thing, I wouldn't undervalue Hinkley's experience at Geelong during the infamous and extensive review Cook did.

There's a rumour floating around on email, which makes it doubly unreliable, that Hinkley will be offered the coaching role and Richardson as assistant. The theory goes that there's no way Richardson will get the chief gig at the Pies anytime soon and so might be tempted to jump ship.

:rofl Must have been sent by a Collingwood supporter, they wouldn't know who works at the club other than Eddie & Mick and the debt recovery girl.

just quotes like hel b unlucky to get tehe job
He will be a senior coach and a good one
And benny was asked if idi i mean he agreed with jades comments he said no

To me it seems that by Hardwick having meetings with Powerless that hes not confident in his ability to win a coaching job.
It seems that Hardwick is afraid that he will once again be overlooked this time by us and that would be the 4th time hes missed out.
Hardwick is ruining his chances by not sticking fat.
Hinkley declined an interview with the Social Security sponsored Roos and said he would only talk to us.
So at this stage Im going for Hinkley to take our coaching job.
